I can remember getting the first Grand Theft Auto game back in 1998 when all the papers were calling it to be banned. Absolutely loved that game.

Easily the biggest disappointment about GTA V is the radio stations, so so dull. Also the game is so clearly influenced by the 2011 movie Drive(How to lose the police is pretty much nicked from the opening of Drive)and yet no similar radio station to the drive soundtrack.

They missed a trick not including Nightcall on the soundtrack, or even Real Hero, I could have driven in the LA flood drains with Michael's family to that song.

This is the problem with setting the game in the modern world, they select songs which are not the best or most fitting because there isn't any hindsight.

Yes. They failed on every single level with the GTA V radio stations.

Except, maybe, if they wanted them to be something just in the background, and never anything more.

Straight off the overpass and into the construction tunnel in the middle of the city?

Radio was well weak, indeed. Space 102 was about the best, the rock stations were proper shite.

The talk radio is shite but as long as GTA has a good pop station, I can get by.

Agree with you on the problems the game has by being set in the modern word.

Yeah I'm surprised they didn't have at least one of those songs mentioned or that they didn't just nick the story line and character, it would fit in a video game easily enough. Although for all the criticism I give the game, they really nailed LA down(The movie version anyway). When your driving around at night it really does feel like your in that movie. Would say another LA movie that GTA get's right is Collateral, Michael literally dress the same as Tom Cruise character at times, so it's a bit on the nose. But getting a taxi around LA in GTA V does feel like your in Collateral, well that and shooting people in ally ways.

Basically what I'm trying to say(In a very long winded way)GTA V is very good at late night LA.

I actually like the score soundtrack, the music that plays when you turn the radio off or during mission. Reminds me of Max Payne 3

Yeah I guess it depends on how you play it but just meant in terms how the game you options of backstreet alleys and underground car parks to avoid get the police off your tail.

This scene in particular must have influenced the people at Rockstar

I spammed the shit out of that tunnel so bad..... In Online, that and the Kuruma basically made every mission simple.

I get what you mean though, looking at the video you posted, you could definitely play it that way too, and I'd imagine were meant to more often than not.

Yeah I'm a bit of a nerd, I'll just try to recreate that scene from the movie in the game. I mean feck having any fun, it's about realism.

To be fair it's not something that came to my mind while playing this. I much prefer how it looks and the atmosphere it creates in the late evening when the sun is setting and in early morning. The day is a bit behind, both graphics wise (too many jagged edges) and in terms of how it feels, in the city, but is quite cracking outside of it. Sandy Shores for instance is excellent during the day, as is Paleto Bay.

Right, so I've finished the story mode on this now, and I've got tonnes of cash in the bank...

Now I've bought a gold plane, and a load of boats and helicopters, what else is there to do other than go round murdering people?

Also, do Lifeinvader shares EVER go back up, as I've got about $4m invested in them at $6.85, and I'm losing half of that currently, it's currently about $3 a share and has been since that mission finished when you blow the blokes head off with the mobile phone...

Weren't you meant to buy those shares after you blew his head off, having bought a competitors shares beforehand?

I wish you could transfer money over to online! Obviously never going to happen as would slow sales of shark cards...but have loads of offline cash in the bank with nothing to do!

They were $44 before the mission, then they dropped to like $10...I lumped in at $6 and they're now at $3...

This is now my thread. PS mods are fecking amzeballs.
If that's the case then at least keep it updated! ;)

Seems like recent events have taken their toll on Nervous Ron – he’s even more on edge than usual, and looking for a new business partner to help take over his burgeoning smuggling empire in Smuggler’s Run, the next big update to GTA Online, coming next Tuesday, August 29th.

With a name that’s a nod to an early classic from the Rockstar Games catalog, Smuggler’s Run opens up the air corridors above Los Santos and Blaine County, providing new business opportunities while introducing a range of planes, choppers and even ultralights as highly viable options for transporting criminal cargo across the state – simultaneously opening up some creative new methods of dispatching any rival gangs along the way.

Smuggler's Run delivers a massive range of new, customizable aircraft perfect for any mission along with expansive new aircraft hangars in which to stash your fleet of fantastic flying machines. These new properties are also the HQ from which you manage your smuggling business – guided by Nervous Ron and assisted by Charlie, your new mechanic, who’ll take care of your collection of exotic aircraft.

COMING THIS FALL: TRANSFORM RACES SEAMLESSLY TAKE YOU ACROSS ROADS, SKIES AND SEAS
Stunt racing in GTA Online had you flipping and carving your way across enormous corkscrews and loops and other crazy tracks, while Special Vehicle Circuit Races harnessed the power and unique characteristics of the Rocket Voltic, Ruiner 2000 and the Blazer Aqua for adrenaline pumping challenges.

Now, racing in GTA Online will once again be transformed with intricate circuits that demand mastery across air, sea and land vehicles.

New and strategically placed checkpoints will instantly change your vehicle class to match the portion of the course ahead, creating dynamic racing with ever shifting challenges to take the checkered flag…

PLUS NEW MODES, VEHICLES, HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AND MORE
Enjoy a fleet of new aircraft along with a suite of customization options for these aerial additions. There will also be a few new four wheeled vehicles as well - plus new competitive Adversary Modes and of course timely holiday celebrations including fun new stuff for Halloween, the December Holidays and more.

That looks awesome!!

Have always loved flying in GTA - very cool that there are a whole new range of planes! Have always wanted WW2 style planes for dogfights!

The downside is that I am sure the mission structure will be very similar to all the existing buisnesses - but I honestly won't mind that so much simply because it means more chance to fly!

No doubt this will be even more expensive.......

Intrigued by that plane. Wonder if you will be able to out-maneuver than the Hydra in a 1v1 and whether the speed is fast enough to outrun a homing missile.
