There was one article a few weeks ago that mentioned him signing a new deal. If he had, would it definitely have been announced, given him still only being one of the youngsters?

If he hasn't signed a new deal then I fear we may have missed a trick as we could have sat him down whilst he was playing in all the friendlies and the charity shield. Now, as each week passes with him being nowhere near the team, he may be harder to convince to stay.

It could be that we have really good relations with the agent and player. We've just taken him on a tour that went through five countries and gave him some real play time. I can't imagine he's in a hurry to leave us after experiencing that.

The way we've handled our transfer dealings gives me every reason to believe that won't happen.

I'm sure Woody is capable of extending the contract of one of our most promising youngsters...

He's in a couple of the senior team training photos with an almost full squad, good to see.

I hope he makes his debut today and then we give him a proper contract before he realises exactly how wanted he would be and gets itchy feet.

But one can't have enough dicks!

He's ready. Even if that means games off the bench, that's more than enough. Immense talent.

I'll hold my hands up on this one, I was talking a load of bollocks. Maybe this kid is a bit special.

50 years on from George Best's debut, and we see this lad put in a great home debut. I hope he's on a long term contract, looks to be a gem.

I do think having him coming through was a factor in us not going in for Ozil.

He's already twice as intelligent as some of our other wingers.

He doesn't aimlessly cross, he has the brain and the ability to pick a through ball or keep the ball.

Like I said on the match thread, this has had shades of CR7s debut against Bolton. I'm not saying he will be that level of player, but the confidence from a teenager on his debut is just the same.

Quality cameo today. He looks ready for games against the lower half of the league already. Will be huge in years to come.

theres a similar level of arrogant and belief, i reckon.

Looked so confident when he came on. Offered so much more attacking threat than our other wingers and pretty much started dictating the play for us. Reminded me of Ronaldo's debut - he just looks a special player who is confident of his own ability. Deserves a place on the bench after this showing.

We better get a new contract for him sorted soon.
