All of those three songs have different chord progressions. Two of them are in the same key.

Boston: G C Em D (I–IV–vi–V)
Pixies: F Bb G Bb (I–IV–II–IV)
Nirvana: F Bb G# C# (I–IV–♭III–♭VI)

Not actually that similar besides the second chord being a fourth above the first chord in each riff.

Was referring to the riff at the start of teen spirt, 2:10 on Debaser & :49 on Boston.
 
I remain convinced I could write a grammy award winning Country music record in about 20 minutes.

I refuse to though, on principle.

The riff at 2:10 on Debaser is the same as the riff that goes through the begining and verses of the song. They are the same parts I was referring to. All the rhythms are different too.

I'm lost. Is this a Wum? or a serious attempt to defend Led Zepp by comparing ripping off other peoples work to recycling your own work? It's a wum right?...I'm still not sure. Does this mean I've been Gotcha'd? Does Noel still do that?
 
John Fogerty got sued for copying...himself?

Well, sort of. Fogerty, of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame, sold CCR's publishing rights. When Fogerty released his solo album in '85, the owner of the publishing rights sued Fogerty for infringement against one of his CCR songs.

"Bringing his guitar to the witness stand, he [Fogerty] played excerpts from both songs, demonstrating that many songwriters (himself included) have distinctive styles that can make different compositions sound similar to less discerning ears."

Fogerty prevailed.

Josh Groban - You Raise Me Up


The guy who wrote Raise Me Up clearly stole it. Söknuður is since 1977. This guy was the Icelandic music scene back then. He was super popular. Legacy was even bigger because he died young in a car crash. Anyways, the "writer" of You Raise Me Up was in Iceland during the popularity of this song.
The Icelandic author sued the Norwegian one for plagiarism and he had a very strong case. Don't know where the case is at now since it's been like 3-4 years.

Weather he meant to or not he obviously "borrowed" a lot from this song.

Here's another one. The beginning of these two songs. The former is since 1992, latter 1997.

Can't do the Vids as I'm on the bus, but recently I noticed a striking resemblance between GOTYE's "Somebody That I Used To Know" and Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower"...give th a listen!
