I'd fire the lot of 'em if I were Konami.

Four years and they still can't get the animations right.
Time for a new developers team to step in imo.
 
How is "Active" AI different to AI?

Sounds like a marketing spin to me, they know they have something a bit shite so they make a few gimmicks.

FIFA blows this away. It looks a year dated than FIFA 10 for a start.

PES 6 on the Xbox 360 was horrible - it was the start of the decline for me.

FIFA isn't perfect by any means but it isn't shite. I still enjoy a 2v2 session online every weekend and have done so since it's release last September. I stuck with PES 2011 for about a week and realised how bad it was.

Well it's better than no fecking support at all.

On the PES of late, you have no choice but to pass back, shoot from distance, or dribble your way to goal, if your furthest player forward is in possession.

The discussion started with a post stating Pro Evo had improved their AI for the new version to give good support. I said FIFA should do the same. what didn't you understand?

Recently played a lot of FIFA since a friend I hang around with is an avid FIFA player. Seriously don't see how is it any better than PES. So damn buggy for starters. Fouls which are clear fouls won't get called and the tackling system is dumb. You can basically just barge into any player to get the ball of them, and there would be no fouls. Resorted to turning off the handball option as it was bloody irritating, considering how random the handballs was and how often penalties were being given away due to handballs. Players who stopped for no reason when you switch to them, letting the attacker pass you. Keepers standing on the line watching and not coming out for the ball even though the ball is 2 feet away from him. FIFA has plenty of bugs as well. The transition for me from FIFA to PES was very easy actually. I play it how I actually play PES, a lot of one-twos. But don't see it any better than PES. PES has that dribble on the line bug but that's only when you play against the Computer. Still an excellent and fun game to play against friends.
 
Oh, and Chelsea are so bloody overrated on FIFA as well. Playing against said friend him using Real with Ronaldo up top, Inter, Barca and Milan, all I've managed to easily counter and handle. Been having a bit of trouble with Chelsea because they're too damn overrated.

I can't help but chuckle when I read all these comments. When I started playing football games they looked like this:

It is. Being better than it's competitor doesn't make it good. Just beacuse a broken leg is better than a heart attack it doesn't mean it's good.

Your post was about the AI. I quoted your post about the AI saying FIFA need to improve theirs. I still don't see where the misunderstanding has arose.
 
Well it is good, for sure.

The problem is that its been around the same level of good for too many years now and the bugs of the previous game held it down a lot.

It IS a good game and yes it does have flaws. But me and many others are still enjoying FIFA 11 nearly a year after it's release.

No, I play FIFA. I'm just not one of those FIFA fan's who are willing to ignore the many flaws in the game and the fact that EA are ripping us off and putting no effort into improving the game. The only time we get an update is when they have a new way of milking money from us.

Do you remember the cheat goal in that? You'd run to the end line and then turn and face the goal. Because of the weird angle of the pitch if you shot straight upwards you'd score every time.
 
Feck, it was Emlyn Hughes' game that had the cheat goal.
