Zlatan

So glad to have seen him in a United shirt. Absolute legend of the game. Oh and that goal against England is the best goal I’ve ever seen in my opinion. The audacity of it. Only Zlatan does that.

Be a sad end to his career if he gets as reported a 3 year ban from football after investing in a Malta based betting company.

UEFA and FIFA probing for an apparent 3 year ban for his partnership in a betting company.

Averages a goal every 50 minutes

Too bad he can't play more than 5 games a season anymore

Absolute hero. To continue scoring goals in big games at 40 after doing so for more than two decades takes some serious quality and commitment.

I’m just happy that I’ve watched him play for us, and even done so live at OT once. Needless to say, he scored, and set up Mkhi’s scorpion kick goal. Anyway, tell me in 2015 that him, Ronaldo and Cavani would play for us at some point over the next 6 years and I’d think you were mad.

One of the most aptly named footballers ever. Shame he never won the CL but we gave him an European trophy.

What was Azpilicueta supposed to have done exactly?

I’m really surprised that Zlatan has shown once again that he’s a cnut.

Nice, real fcuking nice.

Reminds me of what he did to Mings.

Don't be a cnut around him if you can't take the consequences.

The consequences being that Zlatan got booked and now misses one of the play-off games. Top work Zlatan.

He stood up for his team mate against someone who was being a prick. He might have got booked for it, but it shows he respects his team mates and in return will get respect back.

It's only one game. He barely starts for them now anyway and they've ptretty much gotten that far without him anyway.

Oh yeah, big credit to a man who stood up against the might of Cesar Azpilucueta who had the audacity to yell at his teammate Isak for going down and demanding a freekick.

Zlatan is a complete egomaniac outside of being a very talented footballer

That's what good team mates do. They look out for and stick up for each other. Doesn't matter if he's right or wrong to look for a freekick, it shows that there is a sense of unity there amongst the players.

Something that is severely lacking amongst the current group of players at Utd.

Cavani "gets it" but thats about it.

You gave to admit he is great entertainment:lol:

Oh yeah he is. I love watching it but still think he's a total nutter

Yeah I get your point but I think we can be critical of Zlatan here given the yellow. He doesn't always make good decisions - he often does - but this wasn't one of his best.

Here's another stupid one

Come on now. There's plenty of ways to stick up for your teammate that don't involve getting suspended and potentially leaving your team a man down. He lost his head.

Yeah, if this was Chellini or something I may be able to take the standing up for your teammate a bit more seriously, but Azpilicueta? The man that does a star jump when he lifts a trophy? Not sure you're winning many hardman trophies for that one.

That said, classic Zlatan and good entertainment all the same.

Zlatan will always retaliate, just part of his character on the pitch.

Bit muggy that he’s blindsided him a bit there but didn't look all that bad.

Sometimes you have to show that bit of fight, show these lads that they aren't going to intimidate anyone on your team. Dave tried to act the big man having a go at a player and got shown up by a bigger man for it. No harm in that at all.

What exactly did Azpilicueta do to his teammate that require Zlatan to bodycheck him from behind as a way to show respect?

If Zlatan was still here carrington would just be a carpet of blood and severed body parts. What I wouldnt give for him, Eric, Keano and Vidic right about now.
