Zlatan Ibrahimovic | Rises a day early

Yup. Never cease to be surprised how amazingly shit the MLS is. For the size of the country it’s absolute wank. Hence Robbie Keane bossed the joint, despite being miles over the hill. Perfect for a swan song for someone like Zlatan though. He’ll probably score a shit load.
It's also amazing how strong of opinions people have on the league despite never watching it and knowing feck all about the league.

I based my opinion on what zlatan would be like on the fact I do watch it and know a lot about it

Well, he was pretty dreadful during his 7 games this season and was clearly dropped (with the word given to the public that he's not feeling 100% to save face) and yet he suddenly looks 10 years younger.

The way he’s left and then immediately been fit to play there has left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. I hope it was us dumping him and not vice versa.

It’s clearly piss poor. You don’t need to watch the league to be 100% certain how shit it is. Hence bang average players like an ageing Robbie Keane and () Bradley Wright-Phillips were head and shoulders above everyone else. Might be fun to watch, I suppose. Mind you, I quite enjoy watching my son’s U-9 team play most weekends.

EDIT: That’s a little harsh. I don’t mind watching weak leagues. I’m Irish ffs. But the MLS is a very poor standard. Obviously.

Just 6 minutes on the pitch and he pulls a rabbit out of the hat like that

And when you think about he had a long flight just a couple of days ago at the age of 36 with a serious injury last season and nearly zero football this season, it's even more impressive. It just goes to show that his form is temporary and his class is permanent.

I said this when he left and let me repeat it again:

"...this guy is the scorer of the most spectacular goals in the modern era."

Incredible footballer. Love him, wish he’d been here longer.

It was. He wasn't gonna get a look in here. MLS is perfect for him right now

What a fecking debut goal. Already a legend. Might have to actually go to one of the games.

What a character , Brilliant .
Absolutely. Sad that he got such a bad injury. Also, shows how shitty our luck can be, this guy never in his life suffered such a injury and Jose in his career never had a player injured to such a injury yet that day two of our players got a gruesome ligament injury

The guy is an absolute star, plain and simple.

He just came back from an ACL injury... what'd you expect? Especially at his age. It's not fair to say dreadful or dropped when his 3 months where he was kind of fit here was all about getting fully fit and getting the mental strength back. Nobody comes back from an ACL tear and within 9 months is back to any good form. They're always allowed basically a year. Problem with Ibra was that at his age, he likely declined because of the injury anyway.

So glad he played for us, unfortunately timing wasnt ideal though.
Prime Zlatan + Fergie, imagine that. We would've walked the league every years

I watch my fair share of MLS simply being an American who loves football, and Pogue isn’t talking outta line here. It is a weak league, but I’m happy to be a 20 min drive away to see Zlatan.

I know that wonderful feeling. I was 20 minutes bike ride away to see Zlatan, but that was 18 years ago now. Still the same character and amazing goals though.

He's going to tear up that mickey mouse league.
5 years ago, Mickey Mouse. Now, some teams can give a championship team a real test for ex: Atl Utd, LAFC, NYCFC.. teams that have coaches or a philosophy thats Euro-centric. In Atl's case, a former Barcelona manager is at the helm. Games are entertaining and rarely a snooze fest now.

Genius. God. Legend.

No superlative too far when describing this guy as far as I'm concerned.

Happy we got him here for a short time at least. Now, where can I buy LA Galaxy shirts...

The league is still poor, although it is still improving. It's not even the best league in North America, which clearly goes to Liga MX. When Giovinco, David Villa, Altidore, Bradley, Wright-Philips, Keane, etc. immediately become top tier players, it's fair to say the league is sub-standard.

The disparity of the players in the league is like night and day. I can't watch it on TV but enjoy attending matches. The delivery of the product is too much like other American sports and I don't watch them either. It would be nice if they talked about what was happening in the game rather than rambling on about nonsense. Good for them signing Zlatan though. Brings more attention to the league which will bring more sponsors, better players, etc...

Watching him throughout his career you would think his life was scripted. I just cannot believe what I saw today... again.
