YouTube United channels

I don’t get why so many of you hate the United Stand. I like it… it’s not perfect but what is.

Alternatives like the Stretford Paddock are just a joke in comparison. However the subs show this anyway.

It’s a real shame the United View is probably too urban to catch everyone’s algorithms as they probably have the best overall package.

This is something I mentioned a while ago. People act as if these journalists are unbiased when they’re generally as bad as any fan channel. The Spurs fan on Tifo has a hard on for telling ‘United fans’ we’re idiots.

Whether you like him or not, this part is definitely wrong. He spoke about Sterling to Chelsea before it was rumoured anywhere, he knew Ronaldo would be out of our last game before it was picked up by press, pretty sure he was early with Bruno too but that was a while back so not 100% sure on that.
 
Goldbridge gets far more wrong than he does right. The man reads rumours and is part of wattsapp groups like the rest of us.

He’s a charlatan who uses his show to constantly talk down to the United fanbase and it’s weird how fans take him on.
 
I watch Goldbridge for fun, I think he runs his channel really well. The football terrace but Terry seems like a weirdo to me and sometimes a chubby dude called Steven which is quite on point.

Thats what I think as well, he's entertaining and basically puts a spin on the latest noises he hears, kind of like DailyMail. I'm surprised anyone sees him as a source for ITK news.
 
United peoples TV is the best imo. Trafford Tunnel is a smaller channel but they have good discussions and are logical. Paddock is good too but they’ve been click baity recently with the transfer rumors.
 
Goldbridge works hard at it, but his hyperbole and negativity is extreme. He makes you want to hate the club he professes to support.

Yup , as I've said numerous times I can understand why fans of opposition teams (or neutrals including me) enjoy watching him but I'd hate if he was associated with my club.

Here he is 8 days ago moaning about Maguire being made captain by ETH.



How it's all down to player power and ETH was forced into it by the club etc, pure conspiracy theory misery.

I left Manchester years ago so I’m technically a ‘plastic’ now.

I just don’t accept random people on YouTube voicing their opinion, because that’s all it is, is something that’s worth anyones time or holds any weight in a United centric discussion.

These blokes will always follow the popular opinion. If everyone’s pessimistic, they put out anti glazer content and talk about the lack of a midfielder and opposite also if the mood is positive. Whatever it takes to be relevant and gain more followers, that’s it.

They don’t have insight, they don’t know anyone worth knowing and they probably know less than a lot of people on here, but they have a camera, a microphone and an overwhelming need to be heard and liked.

Also, I just saw Goldbridges video on Maguire, and that’s disgraceful from someone who has that many followers and is a public speaker. He should know better.

Do we have plastic fans anymore? Who's pretending to be a United fan at the present? It's not too glorious.

He doesn't claim to be anything more than just one fan with an opinion. He goes out of his way to make to sure to reiterate that all the time and tells people they should form their own opinions.

You can't just say definitively that he doesn't know anyone or have any information, what are you basing that on? I am not saying he knows everyone, or really high level people, but he does at times have access to info before it becomes public, I only discovered the guy a few months ago, and within those couple months he gotten a lot of things correct before they were common knowledge.
 
Personally the Fan Channels are just ok…a bunch of supporters sharing their views…historically just like we all did on a Saturday night in the pub.

The challenge is that they rarely give a balanced view. They are often driven by metrics to be controversial. So it’s better for them (metric wise) to be negative than positive. Thus they drive negative agendas and when a tranche of our support base thrives on negative media it creates HRM toxicity we see today.

Historically in the pub…after a certain amount of ‘air space’ lots of others would have said ‘you’ve made your point now shut up’.

Ive never ever experienced in my 40+ years of supporting United a player getting criticism in a friendly match for nothing at all. Who has set that agenda?

You can argue there’s a bunch of muppets who have no idea what the word ‘support’ means…but for me many have been caught up in the social media frenzy about being relevant, having a voice and following many of the prats on these channels.

So there’s a responsibility here. Unfortunately the fan channels don’t care about that so the sheep follow.

Whether people agree or not (and I really don’t care)….you either support the club or you don’t. Constructive criticism after a match is fine…personal agendas and jumping on band wagons is just pure bull****.

All this talk of ‘maintaining standards’ is totally hypocritical…some fans (not supporters) talk about the players not turning up then don’t do it to themselves. What a load of bollocks!

Many fan channels encourage this behaviour for clicks…they don’t represent fans and yet some pretend they do. They are shit stirrers.

Everyone has the right to watch and follow who they want…but let’s not be naive about agendas.

He does claim to be more. He claims to have sources at the club and all that nonsense. Last time I listened to him he was crying about pimple not believing a channel with 1.4m subs wouldn’t have sources from inside the club.
His points of view aren’t even insightful.

Why do you think the watchalongs are the most popular? Because that’s where he is the most cringey.. he has a second channel called “mark goldbridge - that’s entertainment” .. where he highlights his most cringey moments.. it’s an act, and if anything I think he’s getting worse at it tbh.

Also. He’s evolved the channel because he had no option, it all happened once Howson started working with Rio and paddock got closer to the players, same thing with Romano.. Paddock got him on the show, and then Goldbridge followed suit.. I mean, when was the last time he actually went to a game? He tried to do a video outside old Trafford once and I’ve never seen anything as awkward.. he looked (and sounded) like a tourist

good on him for making a living out of YouTube though

A lot of United youtube fan channels are alright. United Stand is just pure vile though.

Wasn't you on Stretford Paddock back in the day? Was a good insightful video about some of the youngsters if I remember correctly. Those are my favourite types.

And meltdowns of rival fan channels are a good laugh.
 
Just watching the Melissa Reddy interview on Utd Stand. Very interesting show and insights, Adam seems a good lad and a good foil for the craziness of Mark (who I don't mind btw).

Brent di Cesare, his real name, goes into meltdown day after day. Of course there's a legitimate basis to be critical of United and Mark Goldbridge did his part in escalating the backlash against the Super League or whatever that abomination was going to be called but he's a constant whingey moaner.

No one’s forcing you to watch- stick to sky sports or talk sport waffle on about how Harry Kane is better than Ronaldo takes.
 
I watch 4 channels, and largely in the following order in terms of time spent watching.

  • The United Stand
  • United Peoples TV
  • United View
  • Strerford Paddock
All channels are good in individual ways. I have always found the hatred for Mark Goldbridge to be a little bit weird: he has been beaten with the "you're not from Manchester and so you're not a real fan" stick for too long now and - if that's the criteria that needs to be followed - then the vast majority of United fans - some 600 million or whatever the figure is - are not real fans also.

Goldbridge is box office and you have to admire how he has created a brand and propelled that channel. Absolutely amazing achievement and i really like him as a person.

With that being said, I also like UPTV - a really good vibe - as well as United View which is hilarious at times. Take them for what they are and if you hate them so much then just avoid them.
 
A smaller channel that has some great videos is Aj Analysis. Highly recommend it.
If I remember correctly Statman Dave is also a United fan and does some excellent videos.

A non United channel with great content is Rabona TV. He is a benfica fan but his United focused videos are also very good.
 
On a more positive note, I recommend Flying Pig United for entertainment.

Been following the guy since him and Goldbridge were on 10-20k subs and he's not grown as much but I just like him and especially his FIFA streams.
 
I know people take the mick out of them but the muppetiers but I enjoy the daily updates & they actually do get some inside knowledge
 
Any chance we can get a poll. Would be good to see who Redcafe considers No1. I know who I except to win and it’s not the official number 1 fan channel.

In what way? You think a guy ranting in front of a green screen who might interview Romano once week is better then lets say Paddock. Paddock is filmed in a studio so you get better interactions, a good mix of fans from the city and outside it, they actually cover the youth teams and better guest like the athletic crew. Howson is annoying but the rest are decent.

On the subs not really, if anything it shows why people watch like AFTV, or the rants and memes not the actual quality of the channel. Everyone on YouTube love watching rants and a guy overreact to everything so the YouTube algorithm pushes it.

I’m well educated on United. I don’t need to tune into the paddock to listen to 20 minute drivel about how much of a United fan everyone is in the studio and how Mark Hughes use to like his eggs. But like I said each to their own. Maybe I’m a victim of modern society. I just find them boring abs very top reddish.

It’s made for the local lads which is what I said before with their clever marketing on the name of their channel.

Only one I watch regularly now is United People's TV... Little bit of Flying Pig - mainly for his reaction videos.
 
If Goldbridge had his way United Stand would be the Man United equivalent of AFTV. Not sure how other United fans can enjoy that type of outrage content.
