Good option instead of McTominay as long as he comes for 25m. IF Leicester ask for 40+ we should walk away
I'm guessing you don't watch Leicester very often !! His form has dropped off considerably this season & he has been benched a few times. Even his form for Belgium has been off this year. He is still a wonderful player & I would love him to commit to Leicester but it doesn't look too likely. Like all good players in a World Cup year he will want to play regular football & I expect him to be picky about his destination.Never seen him have a bad game. Have to be in for him.
Odd take considering we are losing Pogba and Matic is ancient and Jesse is gone? McT is the only player certain to stay! They also are completely different players.Good option instead of McTominay as long as he comes for 25m. IF Leicester ask for 40+ we should walk away
That is alarming if he can't even play at a high level for his move and also in a world cup year. Even Dembele is playing in the form of his life right now.I'm guessing you don't watch Leicester very often !! His form has dropped off considerably this season & he has been benched a few times. Better at some aspects, worse in other. He is better than both Fred and Scott easily.
Neves suits the team a lot more IMO. Tielemens is difficult to fit into the side and would require an out-and-out defensive midfielder who is at the top of his game (and even then I would prefer both midfielders to be doing a good job defensively). Whereas there's an obvious position for Neves where he sits deep with Fred or Scott (or a new box-to-box midfielder) beside him.Out of curiosity, if we to sign one which one you would prefer at united next season ? Tielemens or Neves ?

No matter the fee, do people really want another lazy, inconsistent midfielder who is poor defensively?
Let's buy more deadwood, sounds like a great idea.
I'd rather just buy Rice than 2-3 average players like Tielemans who do not fit the team.
But not every 8 can play next to a 6 in the PL or CL because your 8 has to have a high degree of defensive competency or high levels of energy to cover ground like Fred. Personally I don't see it, yes he will have a few great games but he won't be what we need, posters who likened him to Pogba are right. I'd rather we buy a 6 and try to develop Garner into the 8 that we need. What exactly do you see Tielemans coming into do?
The reports are Madrid see him as a Toni Kroos replacement.. our problem is we have two 8’s playing 6.
The whole point of buying him is to play next to a 6 who we will also buy.

What is it that he brings that makes you think that?Dream signing for me, he's just the kind of player we need.
Might as well bring back Andreas.
Fecking Tielemans. Crap signing. Just like Rice.
God we need better players then that.
Clearly we should be signing Verratti, Modric, Tchouameni, De Bruyne and Kimmich duhWho would you like to bring in at CM and DM? Realistically available and willing to join us of course.
He's press resistant, able to take the ball on the half-turn and has great passing range and distribution. If we are going to become a more possession orientated team then its absolutely vital that we get some midfielders who are more comfortable taking the ball and retaining possession. He also works much harder overall than someone like Pogba, especially in defence so its much easier to fit him into a balanced midfield setup. Now alone he won't be enough but he would make one half of a brilliant midfield setup in my opinion. What is it that he brings that makes you think that?
but it's not quite Koopmeiners though, is itFor £25m its value for money.

When we as fans turn up our noses at good signings because we believe we are better than them, it makes me think we deserve everything we get. Maybe i'd balk at 50m valuation, but he's a bargain at 25m, he's still only 24!
Ok I do not disagree with any of that, hes just not really that stand out for any of it. Better than we have now, but compared to top teams hes not that good. He's press resistant, able to take the ball on the half-turn and has great passing range and distribution. I don't know. No one? Academy players? Undiscovered talents?
I just know that Tielemans and Rice aren't it.
You said it right there. Good.
We need better then good.
When is the last time we signed a great midfield player besides Bruno? Carrick?
I'd rather we promote youngsters then to buy mediocre players.
It's gonna go the Fred, Herrera, Kagawa way.
Labeled as not good enough.
I understand where you are coming from. But let's say promote youngsters. Mejbri and Garner? Are they better than Fred, McTominay, Matic? Probably not at this stage of their career. Remains to be seen what their level is. All for promoting youngsters if they have good enough first team players to learn from.
Is Tielemans better than our current midfield options? Yes, he is. He is 24 years old and has years of experience at a very high level. He's played 300 games in his career, at Anderlecht, Monaco and Leicester, he's also almost at 50 caps for Belgium.
Do we have the pulling power to get the best midfielders or best youngsters in the world in? Most likely not, especially if we miss out on CL. We need to upgrade or replace 5-6 positions. We can't go out and buy 80m players for every position, so let's make smart transfers. I think Tielemans could be one. Buy a specialist DM to support him.
Honestly think McT is a better player - way more consistent.
My wife’s side of the family are all Leicester City supporters and find it funny so many clubs would be interested in him because he’s been poor this season.
I seen a post suggesting he’s a budget Pogba….totally agree. If we bought him to build a midfield around, then this new direction is going to fail quickly.
McTominay is a nothing footballer. Tielemans is a great player but like Leicester this season has had poor form, everyone was spunking themselves at the thought of signing him a season or two agoHonestly think McT is a better player - way more consistent.
