You have €40,000,000

I would go for Martinez myself. If that falls through Sahin would be my alternative. Since he'd be a lot cheaper, I would probably spend some money on someone else as well if it was Sahin I bought.

Marko Petkovic €5m
Adrien Rabiot €10m
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar €20m

40 million but absolutely no way we are going to spend it on the world class midfielder we need.

Sahin-10/15M

Coentrao. Never would happen, but it'd certainly be lovely to see.-20/25M.

Baines - 12m
Sahin - 15m
Sinclair - 8m

Spend the last 5m on a talent or two for the future

15m Sahin
15m Dembele/Fellaini
10m Baines

RVP - £20m
Nani - new contract

Sell Berba for £5-10m. Macheda and Bebé on loan or sell.

Save the rest for next special player or go all in for Martinez.

It's funny what some people on here think they can get for 40 mio.

Oh just a hint last time I heard about a Sahin deal Real wanted 25 mio. for him.

Yeah that's how market prices look atm if a decent players isn't in the last year of his contract you can bet your ass he isn't going for less then 20 mio. in the current market, especially not to an English team.

Mourinho has said Sahin can leave. Doubt it would take even close to £25m, especially when they are bidding for a better player in Modric for around £30m.

How did you hear that they wanted that? twitter?

Sahin is never going to go for that much this window. He has barely played since Real Madrid bought him for €10m. Why would he suddenly be worth 25m? Oh just a hint, he isn't. Them wanting it or not, he is never going to go for that, at least this summer obviously.

feck off with this sahin 20 million shite.

he played feck all last year and last summer madrid got him for 10 million euro or something because sahin was in his last year of his contract.

now madrid thinks they can double their money or more.

That's what you would have to pay for him if he was on a longer contract for Dortmund.

Of course atm no one will pay that because he basically hasn't played any role over the last season.

It was in a report on Transfermarkt.de I think (they aren't always 100% reliable but still most of the time fairly accurate in their reports) where they said no one is willing to meat Reals asking price and some teams are looking for a loan instead.

The thing is teams are asking absurd prices for players everywhere these days, which is why it's so hard to get a good player.

If you want Martinez, you better be willing to pay 40 mio. € Is he worth that much? Of course not but if a team doesn't have to sell and the contract is running for quite some time they are all asking for prices like this these days.

Chelsea offered Leverkusen 25 mio. € for Schürrle, which I already think is a ridiculous offer but they refused it, Dortmund is asking for 40 mio. for Götze to even consider talking about a sale and the same for Hummels.

Brazils current generation of talents all walk around with a quite similar high price tag on their heads, Chelsea got lucky they only had to pay 32 mio. € for Oscar and would have had to pay probably a bit more if the deal would have gone through after the Olympics.

The whole reason why SAF is saying "there is no value in the market" is because prices for even medicore talents these days are at an all time high and don't look like going down soon.

do you rate sahin better than the lars bender (or sven).

I know sahin has better passing range but sven is stronger in the tackle and lars seems more mobile to me.

The Benders are both awesome players and will only get better in the next couple of years, while I see Lars as a bit more talented in terms of his footballing brain.

Unfortunately both are on long term contracts and Leverkusen already made it clear that they are not willing to sell and neither is Dortmund.

So you would have to look at 30-40 mio. € to even get them to consider it.

Like I wrote before prices are crazy these days and we aren't willing to pay that much which is the right choice imo.

Fair enough, thought it was just the usual garbage you deducted it from.

yeah i'm a bit of a bender muppet :nervous:...have dropped lars' name on here a few times as with sven.

Both strike me as 'utd' players though we've never had a german.

Marchisio is another i think that has utd written all over him though he's a juventino from birth.

however with prices they way they are now, it would probably take 30 million quid for marchisio now as well.

I mean I totally agree with you that it's insane from Real to ask for that money considering they only payed 10 mio. € for him and he hasn't really made it for them.

Might also be that they started with such a high asking price in case that some sugar daddy club came and asked for him, or to recup some of they money they were going to spend on Modric, or so they had more room in their negations with other clubs, or maybe they are just insane and are out of touch with reality.

Who the feck knows what's going on in the transfer market these days.

Of course. No way Juve is letting him go for less. They don't have to sell and those high price tags are a way of saying "we don't want to sell but in case that you have some oil money lying around... well 30+ mio. € and we might think about it."

The only real chance I see atm of getting a good player for a fair price is waiting till they are in the last year of their contract, other then that prices are through the roof atm.

Spend whatever it takes to get Martinez.

Any left-over can go on a left-back as cover for Evra (the player depends on how much is left) - though with Martinez safely in the side then a better left-back could be sourced in January or the following summer.

Sahin is more of a Redondo so I rate him higher since his creative mind is more sublime. Lars is a jack of many trades and master of many. While Sven reminds me of Albertini.
