Television Yellowstone

Is it the last season because of Costner or was it always going to be the last season irrespective? Still would have been an interesting arc around “could the kids step up and run stuff without John around” but because of circumstances now, you fear this will all be rushed to get to the end.

Sad way for John Dutton to go. The guy was a legend, but I guess it makes the most sense, all things considered. That woman who’s banging Jamie sure is hot though. Oh, and a murderer. But mostly hot

Mainly scheduling conflicts with Costner and his filming of his own western film series "Horizon". Also, Yellowstone itself looked to be on the final stretch after 5/6 seasons. Just a shame it wasn't wound down properly.

It was always the plan. I mean, he did play his part in the first half of the season. I don't think anyone knew back then he wouldn't be in the second part.

Yeah I read the bit around scheduling changes which kept changing up to a point they couldn’t find a suitable time anymore due to Horizon. As you say, a mighty shame. Oh well! At least I’m hoping for an exciting end to the series, with hopefully KC & Rip going on a violent spree!

That first episode was terrible. Not heard good things about the second one either. Looking like a sad end to what was a fairly decent show.

Fairly decent is about as good as it got really. And then it decided that using episodes to promote spinoffs was a good idea.

The absolute ego on this show creator btw. Puts himself in everything he does. Have been watching Lionesses and lo and behold the roided goon is in there with his top off a couple of episodes in.

It wasn’t too bad but obviously missing the John Dutton character since the show was built around him.

Looking like a Beth killing Jamie arc. Jamie seemed so weak he couldn’t even look her in the eye at least to make an effort. Will probably end up with them somehow saving the ranch and Jamie’s downfall I imagine. Probably have Rip running it.

That woman Jamie is with is hot though! Apparently she plays a Dutton in one of the prequels as well.

Kasey and Beth both seemingly being psychic and knowing something was wrong the minute John was killed was quite stupid.

Glad the lawyer was killed, she was fecking annoying. Hopefully Jamie gets his cnuppins next.

To be fair they both knew their father wouldn't kill himself so that's why they felt that.

Actually feel sorry for Jamie but he's so thick for finding himself in that situation.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rip ends up running the joint.

No I meant Beth suddenly having a panic attack in the car and calling Rip, saying something was wrong, when she looked at the clock in the car it was the exact time of death. Then Kasey waking up in a sweat before his phone rang and he says “it wasn’t a dream”.

The second episode was possibly the worst episode of anything I've ever seen. The third one was decent but yes the intuition is idiotic.

I swear Kayce, Monica and Tate have had the same dialogue together for three episodes straight.

I love this show but coudln't watch more than 20 mins of the first episode back with his death.

Fantastic show but this season feels like it’s gone to shite - probably a huge result of Costner not returning and all the other behind the scenes mess. Feels rushed as they just need to conclude it now.

Another embarrassing episode that exists only for Taylor Sheridan to look cool.

The poker season with Beth was hilarious. The 9 didn't help her! She didn't have Queens full of 9s she had Queens full of Aces!

Haven't watched it yet but doesn't surprise me. The guy made himself the hero of Season 2 of Special Ops: Lioness as well. Absolute melt.

Feels the show is dying a slow death. Another episode which felt pointless. Even without Costner they could have made it so much better with a Beth v Jamie arc. Just heading towards the finish line in a worn out way.

This is a good summary of that latest episode for sure, although I’d caveat slightly to say he thinks it makes him look cool, rather than a complete and utter douche-canoe which is how (I hope) the rest of us see Travis.

The man can ride a horse though, I’ll give him that.

You wouldn't even guess that was the penultimate episode of probably the whole show.

The cast will probably move on to a new show called Yellowstone 2025. It will be a direct continuation, only this will be a show Kevin Costner was never on in the first place.

I'm sure they may try to continue to the show given how successful its been, but in fairness, I can't see how it would work without Costner. Without him, all the various subplots seem to make less sense.

Also, Sheridan has a few others hows that are ongoing and Landman in particular, seems to be taking off right now, so I suspect more attention may be given to some of his other shows.

Yep, he’s basically turning the end of this show into an ode to himself. Embarrassing how he’s fecked it up without Costner. I’m quite agitated. It was a fantastic show for the most part. One of my favorites. GoT type end to this shite.

Taylor Sheridan's ego is out of control. I can't believe what I just watched. He dedicated practically a whole episode to show off his ranch and horse riding skills.

Yes Taylor Sheridan had to pop up again .

I thought the funeral scenes were well done with a lot of emotion in there. Seeing the cowboys leaving the ranch for other jobs was sad. Can't even remember if that lady that Ryan finds was in it before?

I wasn't really happy with Beth killing Jamie and getting away with it. Remarkably no one can trace how Jamie can leave the house with all of the CCTV around and how more attention isn't given to him being missing, seems very lazy writing and thought it was a cheap conclusion to that storyline which has been a main part of the show. No defence of Jamie but Beth who has been an absolute pyscho and treated a lot of people like shit gets to commit murder and live happily ever after, just poor writing. Nothing also mentioned about the people who killed John and whether the conspiracy would be unravelled.

The wrap up with the lines from 1883 was good, I hadn't seen that yet so the 7 generations line was new to me. Nice how they tied that together. However the sudden light bulb moment from Kayce to sell the ranch for cheap to escape Inheritence Tax seems a bit of a cop out. Makes the battle for the land before pointless.

If they are planning a Beth/Rip spin off, I'm not sure how they can make that successful really.

The funeral scene was done well, as was the scene with Kayce offering Rainwater the deal, and generally the Cowboy stuff.

Pretty much agree with the summary in the spoiler tag above though, the rest of it was (along with everything since Costner left) varying degrees of stupid and shit.

Taylor Sheridan needs to stop writing parts for himself; Travis was just an asshole of a character who TS clearly thought was a good vehicle for him to show off.

Something tells me TS is just like that in real life.
