Which of these do you prefer

  • Microsoft Game Pass

  • Xbox Game Pass

I get that it won’t be able to play next gen games in 4K but it seems strange it can’t play a 360 game in 4K! They have said it’s more powerful than the One X but clearly it can’t be.

two of my best mates are high up in two big devs and they have both told me the ram is a pain in the arse in the S console.

It's the SSD and CPU on it that make it next-gen. It was just not built for 4k, hence, not enough ram.

If I read this for the first time and had to use it to revise for an exam tomorrow morning I’d fail the exam.

There's one One series and there's one Series series. Its not that hard.
 
I don't think the naming convention is any harder than IPhone's or galaxy phone's, and are much easier then TVs!

It's not as simple as "PS5" though.

Will see. It can confuse the consumer. Just look what happened with the wii u. That was a great console, but your average consumer was probably confused if it was a big upgrade.

They should have stuck with the code names. Xbox Scarlett and Xbox Lockheart. Scorpio was a cool name for the one X.

Eh? iPhones are pretty numbered aren't they? They didn't go iPhone 5 then go back to iPhone one did they?

Xbox naming really is a pisstake unless you keep up to date, nightmare for parents out of the loop

A little research goes a long way through before showing up to stores, information is pretty much at our fingertips. Feel more sorry for the parents in previous generations.

The more I see it the more I don’t like the look of series x. Like where you suppose to set it? Can it be set horizontally?

Oh right it’s not going to affect the airflow or anything? It doesn’t look bad, I just thought that it would be a problem if you could only place it vertically.

When it's horizontal you can see the stand, which apparently can't come off.

I'm going to have to put mine horizontal. Otherwise, it won't fit in my TV stand.

It still looks better than the monstrosity that is PS5. It’s going to ruin my beautiful Indian rosewood stand and TV. :(

Argos. Going to test the midnight delivery. If it works, I’d keep my PS5 order if I manage one with them.

Gonna have a few back ups for PS5 just in case. And don’t worry, I won’t be scalping them. I have another PS4 pro sitting here for a year that I can’t be bothered getting rid of. I am too lazy to post consoles or wait for someone to collect them. Too much hassle especially with scammers on Ebay.

You mean you’re going to keep few different websites incase they’re sold out.
That’s what I’m doing for 3080 on Thursday. I’ll have Overclockers, Scan, AWD-it and Nvidia all open to place an order.

Thank you! I'm getting mine from Smyths ideally (want the xbox all access) but will do Game if I have to.

Still think I will get the S - but intending to have a convo with the wife to see if she'll let us get the X (extra cost).

Edit - ah crap I'm at work on the 22nd. I cycle to work (30 mins). Will be one early start for me !

Good luck as those things sell out pretty quickly. I am just going to wait when they are available generally.

I am going to keep a few just in case Argos or someone says to me a week before the console launches that they are delaying my console. Usually they should know before a week who is getting theres. I remember ShopTo constantly sending me emails for PS4 saying your order will arrive for launch.

Thanks. I never actually knew consoles sold out quickly as well. I always got them few months after the release etc. ironically I’m more into all this stuff now then I was back when I was a teenager.

Did you guys know it's now officially just called Xbox? Series is just this line of consoles.
 
If we're confused, and I like to think that we're all very intelligent people on this forum, then the average customer is fecked.

In fact they'll probably give up on next gen altogether and just buy a Tamagotchi.
