Maybe if the subprime borrowers worked harder instead of messing around with the likes of facebook and texting their mates when they should have been working, then they would not have been subprime borrowers anymore. I never said that social networking was responsible, but it obviously played its part in what is becoming a low productivity culture in the west in general.

You live in Spain ffs. How can you have a dig at our work ethic? The lazy cnuts out there have a nap each day, and when they're not sleeping they're chasing bulls or throwing tomatoes at each other.

RE vibrations, what's the point in it, really? It doesn't add much to a game. I thought it was good when it first came out, but I thought as games got better it would become gimicky and fade out.

The PS3 controllers originally had no vibration, but after receiving 1000's of complaints a dual shock controller was released. The consumers want vibration controllers. On most games there are times when vibration are suitable.

Sorry, i didnt realise you're an expert on the subprime market & their work ethics. Massive assumptions you're making there.

Subprime borrowers as you know have low credit ratings. Why would that be? Demographically, if you analyse Facebook members in relation to non Facebook members, I can guarantee that the Facebook group would have a far larger ratio of people with a poor credit rating. You need to ask yourself why that might be the case.

Hey, I don't use those silly websites from my PC, so... Twitter is even more pointless, but Christ, I don't even use e-mail that much. Maybe if people simply concentrated on what they were doing rather than what others were doing the economy wouldn't be in such a shithole. It's the 5 men to dig a hole type of thing, one has a go while the other watch. Maybe if they all dug it at the same time, then... Now they want you to be able to access this type of thing whilst you are playing a game? Oh, I just beat the boss on level 5 of jizzshoot, go to guide, select Twitter, input "I just beat the boss on level 5 of jizzshoot", rinse and repeat.

Correct. How would you like to rant like that all the time for fellow caftardians?

Back directly on topic, I'm bored, anyone fancy a game of either Fifa09,Cod4, Gta IV or Forza?

Probably not true, as a i would suspect a large majority of facebook members will be under 20, and unlikely to have any credit history what so ever.

Forgot to mention that yesterday xbox live maintenance was taking place and not the adding of facebook.

Some people don't like it when I do that though.

That's the point of a rant. Some people agree and others disagree. It is usually done in a humourous way or about a subject that isn't overly serious to begin with (e.g. Xbox live).

I bet if you did six rants I'd like 3 and hate 3.

You're changing your argument now from lenders to borrowers. Which is it to be?

As for the analysing of the Facebook members with poor credit, your argument or really opinion is tosh until you come up with some statistics to back up your wild claims.

I never said anything about lenders in the first place! You're dreaming now.

I was referring to lenders, you quickly shifted it to borrowers being the cause, then attempting to link the borrowers ability to having a poor credit rating is linked to the use of social networking sites. :wenger: That wasn't my initial discussion point. Social networking sites have not been proven as the reason to any economic downturn and i'd guarantee that you won't find a single statistic to back up your wild claims.

I use most social networking sites & don't have any credit issues, so your theory falls at the first hurdle, nor do i have an issue with productivity in my field of work.

That said we can all make stupid assumptions, such as all ex-pats out in Spain are all lager louts who do nothing but look for the nearest 'Linekers' bar so they can get their fry up.

Just came across this on Stumble. And thought of this thread.

He he he!

Because Facebook was originally for students only, and students are awful with credit cards, overdrafts, money, etc, etc.

The computer at my desk at work got this yesterday. Probably because it wasn't made in this decade but it's quite annoying without the Caf to browse. Made me realize how boring work is.

Am now using the other one in the office but it faces the door so everyone can see what I'm doing, whereas the other was neatly hidden behind a cabinet.

Annoying.

See, he's bored now because he has to work instead of buggering around on the CAF. His employer has been paying him for posting on the CAF!

Good lord, and workers get paid to have a fag break as well. Whatever next? :wenger:

Difference being, if you read it, is that he's been doing it on the sly, so basically, not doing any work at all, or rather as little as humanly possible, when he could get away with it. This goes on, believe it or not, on a mass scale. As for the fag break, when I was a smoker and worked for other companies, they would generally give all staff a coffee break in the morning and afternoon (say 20 minutes each). Smokers just went in and out for their 40 minutes per day rather than sitting around a coffee machine or table, so it's a silly argument you are putting forward, especially considering the health and safety laws regarding VDUs.

Let's cut to the chase here, as you seem for some reason to think that this is a serious argument. To be fair, the "he he he" should have given it away, but it hasn't for some reason, and we are not in the Current Events forum, so there isn't even a theory being presented. Now, I don't know if you are trying to make a name for yourself here, or for some reason think that every light hearted metaphorical rant like the one I made in this XBox thread in an Entertainment forum is trying to be some type of groundwork for the manifesto of a future and dangerous political movement that repulses you inner being to its very foundation, but I'll carry on humouring you in any case.

Look at it like this, just possibly for a few seconds. ;) The current recession was started by the banks right? Subprime lending right? Leads to banks shitting it right? Leads to them tightening their lending policies, even to other banks right? Leads to a lack of basic credit facilities to many business right? Leads to lack of cashflow in those businesses? etc. etc. etc.

Lets cut to the chase here. If those businesses that ran out of cash flow and then couldn't find credit lines anymore has not had half their staff fecking about on the Internet and text messaging when they should have been working, they may have got better productivity, and then maybe they could have survived without such credit in the first place.

I suggest that if you are really so passionate about this subject, then I suggest you make a topic/thread about it in the Current Events forum rather that taking a light hearted rant and trying to turn it into something it never was meant to be.

Not here to make a name for myself here whatsoever, i just saw something i disagreed with & called you on it. I think you're blowing it a little out of proportion saying that 'it repulses my inner being', you sound somewhat threatened by people calling you on what you post. Nonetheless i'll leave you alone in future, I would hate to rock the boat. I agree this isn't the right forum to do such a thing & that the current events is more appropriate.

Woolworths was one establishment which went bust & in turn made Zavvi (Virgin Megastores) bust. The issue wasn't productivity, the issue was with product lines for Woolworths. Nonetheless all i asked was statistics on your theory, you couldn't produce any.

That's fair enough, a light hearted rant should be best saved for current events going by the above ;)

Back to the topic in hand - XBL, great service & worth every penny. :)

I'm new to this whole Live business.. do we have a league or something I can join?

Because you shouldn't have to, it should be free. Yet it's a good service and it's reliable, but then so is the PSN, and Sony don't charge you a penny.

I'm not an expert on how these online things work, but I think I'm right in saying Live does it in such a way that they shouldn't even have to charge people. In any case, you have bought the console, the game and they also expect you to subscribe to play online? £40 a year before you even buy any off the add-ons, classic games or anything else.

It's a nice money-making con though. Something Microsoft are amazingly good at. Somebody mentioed it in another thread about their console breaking, "...oh, they fix it for free, it's OK." No it's not! Why consumers have gotten that into their heads I don't know. They certainly are a strange bunch.

£40 a year is nothing, i'm happy to pay it
