WSL fantasy league | GW15 & Maya's Troopers win the Demon Cup

You have a point. Unlike many owners/co-owners I will apologise, and reimburse any losses (without sacking any staff in order to offset the deficit)

If you could send your train and hotel receipts to @jojojo then I am sure things will be sorted amicably.
Nice one. Getting strong ‘man of the people’ vibes here, am willing to overlook this oversight.
To the final!!!

Clean Slate. @jojojo mentioned this in a post a short while back, but I think it is worth a reminder.

If you go to Transfers you get the option to change your entire squad without penalty. This could be beneficial with GW15 being a double GW for some teams.

The exact wording is a little confusing, but the way I interpret it is that you can use this option once at any point between now and the end of the season. I don't believe that your squad will revert back to the original one after a week (it's the 'one week only' bit that is causing confusion)

Anyway - good luck all.

Hmm. Clean slate is tempting, but why change a winning formula? Well, I guess to stack it with players who have two games?

Yes. It's make your mind up time again. Transfer and formation deadline is on Sunday at 11:30 UK - an hour before United kick off.

This week is a double game week for the WSL Cup finalists and their rearranged WSL fixture opponents.
So mid-week we'll see:
Chelsea v Leicester
West Ham v City

The inevitable side-effect of that when we get to GW16 for the fantasy League (weekend of 14/16 March) there will only be 4 WSL matches.

Chelsea and City will be playing in the WSL Cup final that weekend. West Ham and Leicester will have the weekend off.

So if you do have a lot of City/Chelsea players etc - you may need to do a major reshuffle between GW15 and GW16.

Maybe the clean slate option will help people who want to do an overhaul in time for GW16 and maybe some others would want to use it in time for GW15? Though I admit I don't actually understand exactly how the option works.

Still, I throw the info into the pot for managers to think about - or not

Good post - generous to the opposing managers too.

Now, I've managed to load my team with three Chelsea players, three City players and one West Ham player - all of whom play twice in GW15. My others are three United and one Arsenal - and all should score decent points this week.

So, I'll use my "clean slate" next GW, which will leave me in a bit of a pickle the week after when I'll only have two free transfers.

Choice/performance of Captains will be key, and also if some dark horse has any boosts left. Interesting times.

A final reminder that the transfer and team selection deadline is now less than three hours away.

Today is also  The Demon Cup Final between Flexo's Fantasy Femmes and Maya's Troopers. I'll be watching United Women then heading to The Red Cafe Fantasy Arena for this.

I've just realised that the cup final will be the longest game of football I've attended, kicking off at 12.30 today and not finishing until around 10pm on Wednesday 5th!

Good luck everyone.

I have tried to not over think in preparation for the final. That, and I was working away yesterday and might not have given the team selection my fullest attention…
But I trust the women to give their all, no matter how many games they are playing this match (what???) and f the leave it all in the pitch then I will be proud.
And in the current WSL climate, if I lose then I guess I’m getting the sack!

You only get the sack if you win a cup final ;)

Hmm. Shaw taken off, Chelsea conceding two…not looking good!
Maya’s Troopers captaining Toone looks like a smart move now!

Well, what an underwhelming weekend for practically all of us! Simply put, the players expected to score big points didn't, or they did not feature at all. Some of us had Bunny Shaw as captain and she managed 4 points. Well done to anybody with 40+ points, but especially to Little Moo with 50. I know that things will change on Wednesday, so this just an interim report.

HT in The Demon Cup Final

Flexo's FFs (36) v (43) Maya's Troopers

This game is still very much alive. Can the underdogs hold on? Will the Fantasy Femmes get the hairdryer treatment?

Nooooooooo!
Well, we did our best, showed great spirit, but couldn’t quite get back from that first half deficit.
Blame City for not starting Bunny….

Congrats Maya’s Troopers!

Maya's Troopers win the 2025 Demon Cup Final!

Flexo's Fantasy Femmes (53) v (59) Maya's Troopers

Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to the valiant runners-up. Thank you all for playing.

Oh, Little Moo scored 61, so she'd have won it :)

Also, cheers Demon, that worked a treat. Next year a league and fa cup?
Sure thing - that would work.

GW15 Summary

A very strange week, if truth be told. Many of us took advantage of the Clean Slate option to load our sides with Chelsea and City players as they were playing twice. Frankly, that backfired. Big players did not score big points and.many of us did not field a full starting XI. Choice of captain was also an issue. The highest scorer in the entire FF competition scored 112 points, with Fujino as captain (30pts)

Still, well played to Boujee Tea FC as the only team in our league to hit 70 points. And we'll done to Tooney Town, Flexo's Fantasy Femmes and Boujee for all breaking the 800 points barrier.

GW16 will be interesting as our greed may have cost us. Chelsea, City, West Ham and Leicester do not play, so there's a lot of juggling to be done. Do you sacrifice 4 points per player in order to hopefully field a full team, or accept a low-scoring gameweek? Decisions, decisions.

Good luck to all.

Edit: I've just noticed that I did not use the Clean Slate option. Woohoo!

What a great cup competition that was to watch from the sidelines! Brilliant work Demon!
Thank you. It was quite fun, and I watched from the sidelines for longer than you, beaten by Little Moo at the qualification stage, which is why I was wanting her to beat Competitive Dad and win the thing!

7 WSL games to go. There's time for a Demon Super Cup :) Yea or nay?

I will always be interested in the opportunity to win silverware!
