WSL 24/25 | Liverpool v United 7:15pm Fri 14 March at Anfield

The title was never on the table, 2nd place is probably out the window now as well, we´ll have to protect 3rd place and the last UCL spot and that can become tricky if we lose this game as we have the big guns the last 3 games starting with Chelsea who will probably have something to play for in that game.
Game's not over yet! Absolutely no reason we can't blast three or four past them in the second half.

I like your optimism, but Arsenal failed to score once against Liverpool at home, so I would be shocked if we managed to tie this game and gobsmacked if we managed to win it, it has to start with a lucky bounce to get back into the game. Liverpool players will have so much energy now to defend and run. Skinner will need to come up a with a master plan, haha!

Thats not a penatly in a million years, how did she award that. It would barely been a free kick even outside of the box.

Thought that was a brilliant tackle from Jayde. Presumably the ref saw something else?

Yeah she jumped up in the air and sadly the referee bought it hook, line and sinker

We need to beat both Arsenal and Chelsea to have a chance of finishing 2nd most likely. The champions league 3rd spot will probably be decided at the last game of the season vs City.

Well, that was abysmal on so many levels. Performance lacking intensity, seemingly no desire to actually score a goal apart from Maya briefly at the end there, management lacking desire to change what is plainly not working, refereeing lacking competency (particularly for the penalty but several other calls throughout as well) and to cap it all off Liverpool put in their best performance of the season. All in all, I could do with England winning the 6 Nations tomorrow to get my weekend back on track!

FT Liverpool 3-1 United

Disappointing night. Flat performance punished by a Liverpool team playing on the break.

Subs too late to really impact the game. Worryingly the Clinton and Toone pairing looked like it did early in the season - in our pre-Miyazawa phase.

What a disappointing result. I actually thought we played really well, Clinton especially. I think without the farcical "penalty" decision we would have got something out of the game.

I agree that we played really well for the first 30 minutes or so -- but I thought the remainder of the game was our worst performance of the season. Even our rock-solid keeper had a bad day.

That said, I'd like to remind everyone that this new-and-improved Liverpool squad did the same thing to Arsenal last week. If these two weeks had been the first two match-weeks of the season, I'd have Liverpool as one of the favorites to win the league.

Asante says should have been penalty, however conveniently ignores the dramatic dive
