WSL is back in action and we're back at the Etihad to play against City. We're also back to me complaining about Sunday night football, but at least this one isn't as late as some of them and it's a local derby.

For City - Miedema returned from injury in last weekend's FA Cup match. Bunny Shaw is back in training. Whether either will be available to start I don't know, but I reckon Miedema will play at least some of the match. Alex Greenwood is going to be out for a while.

United are close to full strength (Naalsund is the only major absentee) though Toone is still on a "managing her minutes" schedule. Clinton, as far as I know, is available despite missing last week's match.

City v United - City have won 8, United have won 3 and we've drawn 4.

Match is live on Sky in the UK.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the season starts here. Win and the top 3 race is well and truly on. Lose, and in all likelihood we'll be staring at a 'best of the rest' race again.

I'll be particularly interested to see what Skinner does in terms of lineup, given we play City again at LSV just three days later in the League Cup.

I'm ok with this time slot - doesn't clash with grassroots, not too late for kids to watch and a decent gap from the Men's match

I've missed most of the Women's matches this season due to schedules but will actually be able to watch this one so let's hope the team show up, the awful big game results was the biggest issue last season

It's Sunday 26th that has the clash - women kick off at 6:45, men at 7:00.

Looking forward to this.
Going to OT first to pay my respects to the king of the Stretford End.
Then a family meal and the Etihad.
With key players missing for City I think we've more than a chance.
That said I'd take a point now.
We are much stronger this season starting with the keeper.

Is this at the «real» Etihad or at some smaller stadium for the women? Thinking of going.

I am confident ahead of this one, and not because City have some injury concerns, but because we look so much stronger this year. Skinner also, dare I say it, appears to be managing things better and adapting, which makes us less predictable.

Thoughts are with Geyse.

Didn't expect to see Tooney in the Starting XI -- what a wonderful surprise!

Bunny Shaw still out which is great news for us. Interesting that Clinton doesn't start for us, but she will certainly be handy off the bench.

I'm a bit nervous of celebrating Shaw's absence too much. Miedema always seemed to score against us when she was with Arsenal. Fowler in excellent form as well.

Almost inevitable that Ella would score at the Etihad before she's scored at One Trafford!

I’d rather watch our woman’s team all season. Showing passion.

City waking up but not with shots on target so far. Some good defending by us though.

I am loving every second of this, but I am equally gob-smacked by just how bad City have been.

Rewarding hard work from our forwards there.

I know City wouldn't be as strong without Alex Greenwood in the backline, but I wasn't expecting them to look quite so disorganised.

Need the half time break to regroup. The midfield and forwards have stopped pressing high and that’s how they had kept City on their back foot.
