Would You Sell De Gea to Fund 2 Shiny New Attackers?

Depends on the quality of attackers e.g.
DDG for Morata+James=YES
DDG for Lukaku+Barkely =NO

No. We don't need to sell to buy.

Having said that if they gave Morata + Casemiro I will take it.

If it came to a point where we needed to sell him to fund the completion f our Attack signings then yes i would sell him. Having a great GK wont make us win games especially if we arent scoring. It will help us Draw games. City have a clown in goal and still won much more games than us. I would love to keep him but if selling him meant getting 2 proven goalscorers then i would do it. We cant continue with our attack the way it is. It needs ruthlessness. I dont know how our finances are. everyone says we are loaded. if that be the case then fine. But if we sold de gea to fund Kane and Griezmann for instance then i wouldnt even blink at making that move.

Who are those 2 attackers that need De Gea sold for their transfers to be funded?

Hypothetically, if Griezmann and Lukaku ended up costing a little under £200m, and we still needed to strengthen defence and midfield.

No way. Even if we would need the money from hi sale to fund that shiny new player, you never know how good would that signing turn out to be. Just look at our signings of ADM, Falcao, etc. - Shiny new player=/=Player having a successful career at OT

No. When we play defensive, we need all hands on deck. Feck the attackers.

I would be Ok for an even trade of DDG for Gareth Bale +- 20m, if both players are agreeable to moving. If we could get Bale plus AG, or Bale plus Lukaku, or Bale plus Neymar, then all those draws at Old Trafford will be wins instead.

In terms of finding a replacement for DDG, Romero is very good, enough to do a job for us at least for 1 year, and I trust Mourinho to be able to get us an even better keeper who won't be wanting to move to Madrid every couple of years due to GF and family reasons.

I would be less concerned with the money and instead use De Gea as a bargaining chip for Varane and Bale

'Want Dave do you....we will accept £60m if you agree to sell us Bale and Varane'

I wouldn't sell de Gea under any circumstance. He's the best in the world and we're the biggest in the world, who should also be the best.

No chance - I don't see the appeal in Morata
Apart from being younger, bigger and possibly faster, I cant think of a single area in which Lukaku is better than Morata.

On the other hand, Morata is more experienced, more clinical, better in build up play, can play wide, has better positioning and goal instincts and is generally a more rounded striker.

If De Gea wants to go, then yes.

If not, then get the attackers anyway

I'm not worried about funding, the club is rich as feck so there's no reason why we can't invest as needed.

Morata already played in 2 biggest clubs in the world, he got to 2 CL finals (including 2 goals that eliminated Madrid from the semi-finals, ending up in the CL team of the season)... while Lukaku had a few great years in West Bromwich and Everton.

There's not been any kind of indication that we're hurting for money. We can keep De Gea and buy our attackers provided we find the ones we want and they'd be willing to come. This question is pointless.

I'd happily straight swap De Gea for Donnarumma, Griezmann and Mbappe.

You can't seriously think Morata has been anything other than a bench warmer for Madrid

Hypothetically, if Griezmann and Lukaku costed that and we payed i'd say we have bigger problems than losing De Gea

Absolutely. The increase in goals scored would more than make up for the drop in goalkeeping ability down to Romero or whoever.

Id sell de gea to real if they would give us kroos + casemiro/isco/varane. Other than that no.

Depends which are the 2 attackers.

But probably. Our attack is pitiful and has been for 2 straight seasons now.

Ridiculous question.

Is De Gea's sale contingent on us having the ability to purchase two quality attackers? If you answer no then we're simply weakening our squad further by selling one of our best players in HOPE of being able to sign two definite quality attackers.

If the sale of De Gea is supposed to somehow flush our barren, dry transfer fund, then it would make a little bit of sense. I say a little bit because, in the words of SAF, even if we have the money, if there is no value in the market then what's the point in spunking mad amounts of cash to buy average players? Or potentially worse -- sell our best, most valuable assets to not buy anyone? Or buy someone who is quite average?

I'd much rather be satisfied with someone who fits the needs of our squad. I don't for a moment doubt that we do not have the funds to compete. Selling De Gea to fund transfers would be a daft decision.

I would sell De Gea to free up some wages 200k, also Rooney and eventually Zlatan. That is 670k per week on 3 players.

But only De Gea if we have a great replacement lined up.

Then yes we can start investing seriously in the squad.

If DeGea wants to stay and is happy to, absolutely no way. He is one of the top three keepers in the world along with Neur and Buffon. Has been our best player for three of the last four years and is almost guaranteed quality for another decade. Why would anybody be happy to swap him for shiny new toys that there is no guarantee of success from. e.g DeGea swapped for DiMaria + Falcao, in hindsight this would obviously be awful....go back 2/3 years it doesnt seem so bad. not to mention you can swap him for two great attackers, you still probably need to spend 40-50m to replace him, and with who as Oblak cant happen, Donnaruma?
