Definitely not. Licha’s aggression, bravery, intelligence and ball-playing ability are vital to us, and so is the energy and quality on the overlap Shaw brings down the left flank. Seems ridiculous to upset the partnership they’re developing down that side too. Just because Shaw has been excellent at CB, it doesn’t mean we should stop using him where he plays best. It’s just testament to his world class footballing ability that he plays both roles with such aplomb.
No way. Licha straight back in, Shaw sends malacia back to the bench. It's a no brainer.
Martinez should get his role back and he will, at least come the first fixture against Barca I'll be more confident with Shaw than either Maguire or Lindelof.

No chance, Shaw is a huge upgrade on Malacia. Martinez is as good as Varane, imo.

Luke has done a fantastic stand in job, and maybe in his twilight years of his career he could make the switch to CB, but I think it’s obvious Licha should and will return to the side asap.
Nope, Our 3rd choice CB though 100%. I rather see Shaw cover the position than Lindelof or Maguire.
Let's be honest, he's played alright against two teams who offered about as much threat as an impotent paedo in a room full of adults.

No way. He's done a good job filling in, but having Martinez at CB and Shaw at LB is to my mind obviously better than having Shaw at CB, Malacia on LB and Martinez on the bench. Martinez is better in the physical part of the game, is a much better-game reader, is much more aggressive, significantly better one-on-one and also a better passer.

For the role Mazraoui played at Ajax. Same type role as the kid Lewis is playing at City. In possession you’re a a right sided center mid, and in defence you run back out wide to RB. It’s what happens when you have tons of possession, someone like Ake (or Shaw as this thread suggests) out left and a touch line hugging winger like Antony. The right half-space is open and you can cheat and have your RB play there more.
So, I think someone who can run and create with longer passing is ideal, but those guys are hard to find. A younger Beckham I think would have played the role well, so it’s easy to think of Ward-Prowse and Trent as they are the players who hit crosses and long passes from the same area like Beckham, but Ward-Prowse lacks Beckham’s running strength so I think is ill-suited. Might be easier to find the next very skilled RB, which is often someone Brazilian or North African. The rumoured options of Frimpong and Juranovic are quick, but not really tested that far infield. We’ve already seen Dalot take up these positions a lot, so signing someone who can play CM and RB makes sense.
TLDR: Shaw playing as an LB/LCB means we can play a very attacking RCB, but they need to have the skills to play RCM.
Shaw as starting LB and deputy LCBcis perfect at the moment.
