There really wouldn't be. Neither of them are good enough to start for us.

I believe there would, because they would probably play for a side where their strenghts would be highlighted. Some teams actually field players in positions that suit them best.

I have to say with last seasons performances and the world cup I am interested to see if Lingard can turn into a really top player for us.....Rashford is far from the finished player yet.

I am just hoping for a top 4 finish now. Liverpool have fixed their fecking defense. Hope our squad gets their shit together and mourinho doesn't look like a miserable sod all season.

Well the general consensus on here is that Lingard is a central attacking midfielder and Rashford a striker. Neither are good enough to be first choice in those positions at any big club.

Even the likes of Spurs have Eriksen and Kane who are both levels above those two in those positions.

Hazard to Madrid unlocks Bale to United + Martial part swap for Alderweireld. Mandzukic or Arnautovic as second striker.

Hazard doesn’t go to Madrid and Martial part swap for Willian plus Maguire. This scenario frees up funds for Lewandowski or alternatively Mandzukic/Arnautovic + Sandro.

This sh1t is too easy.

The situation is surreal. Hopefully it's just the calm before the storm but I've never known a summer like this with us before.

Either the journos can no longer be arsed to make up rumours anymore or we're not doing anything.

Until you mentioned Eriksen and Kane, a lot of bollocks, a better comparison is Pogba and Lukaku, not Rashford and Lingard, Spurs don't have better depth than us.

You should watch the actual interview. He was asked how bad is it that half his senior squad is missing. Should he be over the moon? The rest is very laid back and he even goes to describe that the positive side is that the youngsters will get a chance. But you won’t here that mentioned.

People will take snippets and twist them to suit their agenda.
No forgive me i haven't watched his interview i was just commenting in the tweet. Hope he just stop moaning and start get the best out of his squad.

A different approach to the game and getting more out of the players at hand, is what I would want from Mou. Hopefully, McKenna will be able to influence Jose. When it comes to transfers, I am sure Woody will not let us down.

I would prefer sighing no one and save money for later if it means getting players we don't need. We signed lindelof last year never played him. Signed Sanchez when we were flying and had two good left wingers that all went to pots. Similarly mikhi was a pointless transfer.

I never said they had better depth though, I said that they have players better than Lingard and Rashford. Which they do.

If they're not good enough to start for Spurs then they're not good enough to start for us.

I don’t see how Liverpool signing a supposedly good keeper means we’re doomed. I remember when Chelsea bought Ballack and Shevchenko after back to back titles and we brought in Michael Carrick that summer, which at the time wasn’t the most exciting signing. I think everyone thought there’s no way anyone can touch Chelsea this season, but guess who won the league the following year.

I think some people obsess too much with teams on paper, than in reality. For all we know, the team could just click this year and it’ll work. Sanchez will be up and running hopefully. Fred will add to our midfield. No idea if Dalot will be starting games but I’m hopeful he can at least challenge for the RB slot.

Mourinho's often says that good effective coaching can bridge a quality gap. We have 7-9 quality players in their natural positions. I'm gonna expect that a coach of his stature and with the time that he has had will be able to make a telling difference even without further investments.

Re investments, we have seen them address key positions over the last 2 years. There is no reason to think that they won't do so this year.....assuming we don't run out of time.

I'd like to see us making some movements not only with signing but extensions etc. I have faith that all the parties involved want the same thing...success for Manchester United.

Our strategy is to sign average players for between £40m-£60m - how can you not understand that?!

Both scenarios sound quite crap?

If Mourinho did want Tony Alderweireld, Woodward would have to
1)negotiate with that bold Cnut and could go to the last day
2 The added complication of Alderweireld just finishing the world cup in the latter stages.

If Mourinho did want Bale:
1) Woodward has to wait for Bale and his situation being resolved with Madrid for playing time.
2) This can even go to the last week with the pricing.

Woodward is in LA atm watching the game.

Woodward could be on the moon and we could still sign players, as long as he has a phone working.

Still have sick notes at CB. Over under on Jones/Smalling/Bailly playing more than 30 games .... Let’s see what happens when they get injured yet again.

Ashley Young is still LB.

If they're not good enough to start for Spurs then they're not good enough to start for us.

First of all, it is like telling me, we have Lukaku and Sanchez that is better than Son and Lamela, it is still an unfair comparison. Spurs have Son as starters and Lamela on the bench, we have Martial and Rashford mostly on the bench, many Spurs fans would prefer Martial over So. , Sanchez on the form is world class even though he hasn't been good for months.

Rashford is very young and talented, he's clearly better in top 10 players of U20 groups, he hasn't had a very good season last season but he hasn't reached his peak yet and there's plenty of development to improve in the future.

I think in terms of strategies we should be signing quality young players with some experience and room for improvement who can serve us well for time to come and regardless of manager. Doesn't look like we even competed for the likes of Odriozola and Lenglet. There's people like Malcom knocking round who look good and affordable as well

What happened to the days when we could just call Tottenham and tell them to send their best players ? Carrick and Berbatov were cheap as hell!

I really want to study how Tottenham developed their new transfer structure, we really used to get players from them and now it seems barely possible

Much as we all love United it's ridiculous to suggest that City aren't a top side, ditto to clump our 99 side with Milan of a decade earlier is laughable, they would literally destroy us.

The"$hitty" and"uefalona" also weakens your argument as it makes you sound like a child.

Who said they are not side? They are. But as we showed on the last match against them in PL, and as Liverpool showed in CL, they are far from invincible, and aren’t on the same level as the teams I mentioned.

I hate Barcelona and City. That’s why O called them like that. How does calling them $hitty and UEFAlona derides my argument?

Whilst I completely agree with nearly all of your comments, Athletico are currently 10-1 to win the Spainish league and with the exceptional squad they now have, they will go very very close to the Spainish Title and currently boast at least 3 world class players in their squad.....what would we give for a Costa, Griezmann, Godin, Jimenez, Koke, Saul or Thomas Le Mar!!!

Lukaku>Costa.
Griezmann=Alexis.
Godin and Jimenez are certainly better than any CB we have.
Martial>Rashford>=Lemar
Pogba>>>Koke
Fred>Herrera=Saul

The negativity here amazes me.

Griezmann is way better then Alexis

Griezmann is better as an MP or CAM. Alexis is better from either side of the wing.

Wait until he has preseason, and enters the season integrated in the team while knowing it.

He came on winter, after having conflicts with Arsenal, so his lack of form wasn’t coincidence.

I have been following Sanchez since his Udinese times. He's quite a decent player whom I always admired and wanted at United but he's not Griezmann.

On what planet is Sanchez =Griezmann?

I think Sanchez = Griezmann is a good call actually. I also think they're both not as good as people think they are at the moment. I feel that both of them had their best seasons two seasons back and at that time they were simply scintillating. Right now they're both players who seem to live on key moments, i.e., a key assist or a key goal in a game where they were otherwise not really performing as well as they could have in.
