While it sounds reasonable, it however is not one bit more reassuring with Woodward track record of botching obvious transfer targets.
Remind me how many players Liverpool, Man City, Barcelona, Bayern, PSG & Juventus have signed?
The reality is most of the action takes place in the last 2 weeks. Now add in a global pandemic...
Get a grip and let it play out before going into meltdown.
Liverpool are the best team in the league and have just signed one of the worlds best midfielders and a solid squad player. City are almost as good as and have made two solid signings already, and i'm sure they will get more.
Barcelona haven't done much but I can assure you their fans are having a much bigger meltdown that some of us!
Bayern are the best team in the world, have signed Sane and are set to do more business.
Not sure about PSG and Juventus but they already have great squads and aren't any of the 6 teams competing with us for 4 places in the domestic league, which is our minimum requirement.
At the moment, I don't have much confidence that we will bring anyone else in - I think it's fair to be a little bit worried. We showed our lack of ambition after our 2nd place finish a few years ago, we could easily do the same again.
So apart from Chelsea no big clubs have been out signing loads of players during the global pandemic.
Liverpool have signed 3 after winning the league by a million points..... All of our rivals and even some relegation candidates are outspending us.
We need the reinforcements to keep progressing. There really is no excuse.

It’s akin to to complaining that you don’t have enough money to shop at Harrods whilst being on an average wage - if you can’t afford something - go elsewhere. It really is as simple as that.
Seems Alexis deal left bad taste in mouth we are scared to go for similar deals.
I still feel we missed the trick by not signing Thiago/Bale as the risk is very low. Bale on 12M a year and Thiago for 25M+10M a year wages are not that of a risk.
As we have a young team I think we could have used Thiago/Bale experience to help these boys.
Wondering if Ole vetoed these signings OR the board.
That’s my thinking too. It’s like what do you talk about?Yeah this is what grinds my gear. Every team moves on if they cant afford a player. While we seem to spend ages waiting. We waited a year for Griezmann ( if we are to believe the press) a year for Sancho and now they are rumours going around that we might wait one more. Madness.
Right wing has been our achilles heel for decades. Yet our board is obsessed with showing off a new #7 for the shareholders to lap up. Bang out of order. Its not a popularity contest.
Get someone else in simple as that. I refuse to believe they arent any gettable talented right wingers in world football.

Pretty Bad, Isnt it ?
No proper signings
No Improvements to Stadium
Lot of money into their pockets
Wish you hadn’t mentioned that, that’s a whole new embarrassing chapter, our stadium is looking so old right now it’s like walking back in time. Decades.Pretty Bad, Isnt it ?

Liverpool have built a quality team not by making 5-6 signings in a window but going for quality over quantity ensuring that each transfer is successful and slowly but surely having quality in every position and building a team that will be strong for a number of years. This is clearly what our strategy is and it worked better last season than any window we’ve had previously. We finally have a manager that doesn’t have a team full of his own flops. I’m not wrong about that, we’ve obviously shifted our approach entirely.
The Caf going into meltdown over Chelsea buying 5-6 players which we have done in the past with 0 success, and Spurs making signings like Bale, which we have done similar of in the past with 0 success, is pathetic.
We need a couple more players that’s a fact. But we need to save the meltdowns until after the window closes. Having these bratty reactions because we’re missing out on the thrill of signing players when other clubs are signing players clearly who don’t fit into our strategy (older players, players who want to join other teams, players demanding silly wages, injury prone players) is pathetic.
There are players out there who can improve us. We shouldn't spend just because others are but I find it hard to believe our entire transfer strategy seems to be hinged on the Sancho deal.
Why do we also find it so hard to sell players? Is it because of their wages? Well then we'll have to take the hit for stupidly giving those players such high wages.
Same hereThe club I love is not the club I fell in love with. The Glazers and Ed have taken a big shit on everything SAF accomplished. Liverpool just won the league title and there is zero response from United, top 4 is the new norm.
We can do things in the transfer market that other clubs can only dream of.

We can be best at the things that don't cost anything.

I don’t think those people (I’m also saying it) are dicks excusing your owners, so you can cut that shit straight away. We are saying what was said at the time Bruno was purchased. Whether we like it or not the net budget appears to be around 75-80m more often than not.

I think that's what the plan was - Sancho. Which is fine if you can actually sign him. Imagine one player being your focus and botching that up. FFS.Ole just basically said what we all feared. No Sancho and we don't have alternatives to go for. We are ONE injury away from seeing Lingard or Pereira in the front three. Ole doesn't think James is good enough, nor Ighalo, and Mata can't play full 90mins a few games on the trot. We were supposed to getting rid of dross like those two and we are going into the season knowing they will be an integral part of the team.
It makes perfect sense to me.Liverpool have stengthened their attack more than us this summer. Given the collective stengths of the respective teams over recent seasons, that doesn't really make any sense.

Irrelevant? I wonder how much City and PSG’s owners have taken out of their clubs?
