He's Keegan's man then, as Leeds can't turn down a good offer for him - but I thought KK was skint, and nearly resigned over it? Maybe he won some cash off the board. Houllier's got £15m, he should try and buy him back. ;) Fowler's been a great success at Leeds hasn't he?

Who are the Bindippers after?

Arsneal are apparently signing the Bulgarian national goalkeeper - would have thought they'd have gone for Rustu - that lad needs to make his mind up, he's already said he regretted not moving to us.

Leeds were not selling until a £30m bid was received - it came and Rio was gone....simple as that.

Leeds would have been daft to refuse that sort of money.

Leeds had a lower bid, and were holding out for more cash, they were always prepared to sell him for a negotiated amount. Wouldn't surprise me if Ridsdale was touting him around the clubs.

You have to consider the fact that they are Leeds and they aren't exactly the smartest lot.

yup, i'd join you in that. Lazio are in the shit finacially and would jump at the chance of a loan, cos it means getting the player of the wage bill but not selling them.

Id love to say were gunna sign ronaldinho or cisée but it aint gunna happen in january, the summer, maybe, but not now, clubs will want there stars for the busy new year schedule and our best hope is, like neil said, a youth signing i would think. Or a loan.

Despite their financial log jam, they're challenging for the Seria A, and won't want to jepordise that by losing a key player like Lopez. Still they have not been especially sensible in the past, so who knows?

I'd take Eidur G before Lopez: an easier fit. He would like more than a minor role, the cause of his rumoured displeasure at Chelsea.

Ronaldinho is skillful and creative for sure, just looks soft for the Prem.

Bellion from sunderland, - he can't get a game for the lowest scoring team in the prem??

Which part of "Leeds were not selling for less than £30m" did you not understand?

It was agreed by ALL the board and DOL that IF a bid of £30m+ came in they would sell Rio - great bit of business in my opinion.

Wrong...the final figure is just over £30m

As I said, the FINAL figure is over £30m....it is based on MU success over the coming seasons.

I take it you do think you might win a few things over that time Jens? ;)

perhaps

think there was an article in the saying we´d have to sweep the board (cl, pl, fac) twice for you to get the full money

I can't believe that even Leeds board would agree to an unlikely scenario like that mate - I have it on good authority that it is linked to CL qualification and appearences by Rio.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, either he has feck all or he has a big ass signing - or he couldn't get who he wanted.

feckin good post mate, however, do you think Gudjohnsen would play a minor role?- I think he would play quite a senior role if signed.

Agreed, I meant he apparently is peeved at getting so few starts behind Hasselbank and Zola, so he would be looking for an improved situation, - and at United he would probably be #2 striker ahead of Ole and Diego in the selection. Ole and Diego, good though they are, are not quite up to leading the attack in Ruuds absence(especially in a 4-5-1 formation in CL) should an injury occur- which is a real danger.

Chelsea must be tempted, besides they also have Forsell and Carlton Cole(who has just interrupted a loan spell at wolves to return to chelsea??) as forwards, not to mention the 90 mil debt. But again they will want to be careful not to weaken the team and their best run in years.
