Wimbledon 2015

Shame fed will lose to Novak in the final, he's supreme for a 33 year old.

How cool is Federer? Goes for winners, comes to the net, plays tennis quickly with no fuss.

You're being very harsh on Murray. He's not remotely in the same bracket as Federer in general, and Federer is playing really well for any age.

If Murray wins this second he should feel confident being younger and fitter.
Fixed.

Come on.. Federer is turning back the clock a bit here but this is still not peak Federer. He could have closed out second set much earlier, missed an easy back hand winner for a break at 2-1 and then those 5 set points, half due to his own errors(and poor shot selection) rather than Murray's brilliance of any kind.

I would buy this argument if Murray had an error free game, he has not.

You might be right, but I reckon it's not as easy as I would have guessed pre-tournament. Djokovic hasn't been particularly impressive, whereas Federer has been absolutely brilliant.

The really great thing about Federer is that he is he still plays grass like it is supposed to be played - at the net. For all of his flair, power, spin etc that is what makes him so enjoyable to watch on grass.

Is hating on Murray the cool thing to do? I dont get it.

Murray needs to somehow put pressure on Federers serve. Either attack it or something, something to get a break point.

Not sure. Novak has become a bit of choker in these finals and Federer in this form will best a nervy Djokovic. It will be important for him to start well.

Of course it's not peak Federer. But it is still Rodger Federer, in good nick.

Crappy maybe you overrate Murray if you think he should win easily? The guy has won as many grandlsams as wawrinka.

Murray gets it to Deuce, And Federer is "feck this" ... Ace! 10 seconds later "Game Federer" lol

Never really been in to Tennis but I've watched quite a bit of this years Wimbledon. I never imagined it could be this entertaining and tense, I think I'm a fan.
It's a brilliant sport. You've been missing out.

He's just toying with him now.

"heh, go on then, have deuce, think you can break me? Have THAT!"

He's generally being exaggerative but in theory a 28 year old Murray having his best ever season to date should be beating a near 34 year old Federer with a degree of comfort.

Theory is being chucked out the window here, however.

I don't overrate him at all.. I just don't think this is Murray at his best either. Peak federer got better fights from other inferior players.

Yeah.. I was having a bit of fun with Murray supporters in here.. poor WUM attempt and all.. :D

This theory should take into account that Federer hasn't aged the way your usual tennis player does despite the lack of grandlsams.

If Djokovic does it on Sunday, then people may be able to argue that I guess. However If Federer plays like this against Djoko as well, it shows, age isnt a thing. Federers shots are just amazing.

Roddick comes across like a thoroughly nice bloke. He's more insightful than his tennis game would suggest.

Isn't this Federer still at his peak, though? Some of the stuff he has played this year has been top drawer.

He's been very good this year and arguably better than any player in his 30s ever. But still not at the level he was in the mid 2000s. He was a consistent, ruthless machine for a sustained period of time back then.

I always liked Roddick. Came across as a funny dude. His biggest problem was Federer, without Fed playing, Roddick would have won so many more slams haha.

Nah, peak Federer was a lot more sprightly around the court. This is the best I've seen him in a long time, though.

Being on grass always suits and helps him.

Maybe it is looking at his age, maybe it is looking like his last crack at it but I haven't seen him play this well for a very long time. It has been like an exhibition tournament so far, add in the fact he has blown Murray away as of yet and you have to say it is peak Federer.
Indeed. But he's not at his 03-08 level or even 10 level. It's similar to his 2012 Wimbledon form.

Loved the bit about Murray giving him more of a game than I ever have
