Wimbledon 2011

What makes you support Nadal, out of interest?

Right now? Because I've supported him for the past 7 years and since he was ranked somewhere in the 50's.

Why did I start supporting him? That happened because he beat Fed in straight sets (at Miami) the first time he ever faced him and then I remember watching him beat Roddick in a huge game in the Davis Cup in 2004. I've been a fan ever since.

"That's what they're playing for, you know that trophy really well."....That's a vase Sue.

Leave her alone. If she couldn't tell Cliff Richard was gay she surely can't tell a vase from a trophy.

Was a great match.

Great pic. Some of the net points were fantastic.

Even if Nadal gets taken out by a sniper they're making sure he can't blame injuries if he gets beaten.

Good match that. Ultimately though Tsonga makes too many errors.

It looks great when he's hitting everything for winners but he'll never be in the top echelon of players with such a risky game.

If Pippa Middleton is ever kidnapped the director of this broadcast has to be a suspect.

Murray 1-0 Nadal *
Now that's a start - cheeky serve-volley (tactic alert), ace down the middle, another ace down the middle at 129mph. Out of the blocks like a ravenous greyhound.

Ok time to stop reading BBC

You didn't stop reading after this?

"1634: Here come the players - enormous white racquet-bags hanging off broad shoulders, calves like polished teak visible between mid-calf socks and baggy shorts. Unbreakable fashion rule: only a professional tennis player can ever get away with a mid-calf white sock."

Gayer.

Funny how when Murray calls for the trainer, no one accuses him of gamesmanship.

You've made a variation on that post half a dozen times in this thread already. There's no conspiracy against your boy. He's the best player in the world and almost universally liked.

Murray getting his teeth into Nadal's service games..targetting his backhand well

I know nothing about tennis nor am I interested, but my prediction is Nadal to win in 3, 7-6, 6-4, 6-3.

UNLESS...Murry can win the 1st set, in which case it may get interesting and go to 5, but I'd still be surprised if Murray won it.

Why would it be surprising? Murray's taken Nadal out in two GS semi-finals before, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he won today.

Nadal needs to get into that Murray serve and start making an impression. He's doing absolutely nothing on it right now.
