This murray game is just flying by. Boom bang boom.

6 games in 13 minutes

2 match points on serve. Misses a shocking sitter.

Now gets broken.

Sorry but I take back my opinion. He's not winning Wimbeldon. No chance.

Cut him some slack. This is his 2nd grass match in two seasons.

I think he'll get deep into the send week but I don't see him winning it either.

Oh and prepare for the customary vomit inducing dose of 'Murray mania' again and the usual 'this is the year' 'can he go all the way' bollox.....fecking gets on me tits to be honest, everyone knows he aint going to win the thing so save us all the hype will you.

Must say thats the one thing thats always made Wimbledon my least favourite grand slam to watch, because of the crap spouted about any half decent British player, before Murray it was all that Henman shit, whilst everyone knew he was never good enough to win the BBC kept desperately trying to convince us (and themselves) he could before the inevitable 'poor Tim, wasnt he so close Borris' shite.

Yeah it does get a bit sickening a bit like with the England team. You just kind of wish they'd leave off the pressure and let him have a good go at it. To be fair though Henman was crap despite some good results and making the Semi's at Wimbledon but Murray on his day has the game to beat the top players and has had two grand slam finals in the US open and Aus open was it? He's way about what Henman was and has put in some hard work to get there.

Nadal and Federer are just too good.

Murray Chokervic and Roddick all now out.

Nadal playing right now. He breaks and typically he gets broken immediately.

Two things I have noticed about Nadal specially over the last year:

1. He almost never holds the first service game of a set.

2. He has a very very poor rate of consolidating just after breaking

Sigh. Just 1 out of 6 break points taken. this is a great chance for Nadal to win the tournament with so many big names out

It's an emotional rollercoaster with you, eh?

Relax, he'll play his way in, and this guy will fall apart when it matters.

Yeah I expect him to win eventually in 3 maybe.

How far can you see Murray going? Right now im not sure he'l make it to the 2nd round..

The gulf in class between Fed/Nadal and the rest is just huge right now.

I've not seen the draw, but I can see Murray getting to the quarters or semis. His knee's clearly not right, no matter what he's saying, so I wouldn't blame him too much for his performance this week. His season is based around the US Open now. Which he has a great chance in, IMO.

I think he has really badly regressed from last season. He was winning a lot of masters last year atleast.

But this year since that Aussie Open final he's been in shocking form. I don't think he's even reached the quarters of any tournament since then.

Even in the American hard courts he struggled.

If he gets a draw as bad as his french open draw he's going to be heading out quite quickly.

That was a poor set by Nadal. He yet has not adjusted to the grass very well.

He needs to start converting some of the million break points he gets in this second set.

If nadal loses today Querrey is the highest seeded player left in the tournament

Nadal broken in the second. This is going to end very quickly now.

Nah. Nadal will break back, and win on a tie-breaker.

Lopez wins in straight sets.

Poor by Rafa. I hope he does not use some kind of injury as an excuse for this performance now.

In 2008 he won Queen's before winning Wimbledon. This time it's a very different story.

Struggling against players like Lopez and Istoman does not bode too well for his hopes.

I know it sounds a bit knee jerk but I just can't see him winning at Wimby this year. You just cant lost to players like Lopez being number 1.

Needs to improve a lot to do well. Anyway well played Lopez! First time he's ever beaten him

Am I very cynical to think that Rafa might have felt he'd had enough match practice, and gave his mate a slightly easier time of it today?

I'm not suggesting Rafa let him win, but I doubt he's that gutted to have gone out. He'll have some rest, and then get back to practicing.

Yeah well now that I calmed down, he's just won the french 3 days back or so and these 2-3 games would have done him good.

But I doubt Nadal would let anyone ever win, irrespective of friendship. He was just not good enough today and Lopez took his chances

Nah, I don't think he let him win, but I'm not convinced he fought as hard as he could have in the circumstances (particularly in terms of not appealing the winning shot on match point).

He just seemed completely off his game really today. It was a strangely lethargic performance.

Never did fight hard enough on he break points in the first set either. Very strange performance.

I've never seen such poor volleys at the net either. Yesterday at match point and today again the crucial volley he missed at 4-4 in the tie break.

Murray to win it, and the vast majority of people forgetting he's Scottish, linking his success to Englands potential football triumph

Yeah, a fine infectious mononucleosis form .

Yeah typical Federer fans execuse.

Mono had no effect on him that time. He had played well enough to get to the French final and ofcourse get thrashed and he played very well on the way to the wimbeldon final before losing.

nadal had come close to winning it the previous year too at Wimbledon so don't use Mono as the execuse.

Nadal has a mental stronghold over Federer. 14-7

Federer lost to Hewitt in the final at Halle

What a week. Nadal, Fed, Djoko, Murray, Roddick all lose

Did anyone else see the snippet in the papers today where Federer basically having a pot shot at Nadal (out of jealousy no doubt) where he says winning on clay requires little tennis skill? basically ridiculing and trying to downgrade all Nadals achievments on clay (probably because Nadal rapes him senseless every time they meet on it) and dominance on that surface whilst at the same time bigging up his record on grass and how its so much harder etc etc.

Thats why i cant stand the man, such an arrogant cnut who cant stand the fact Nadal has his number and hes (quite rightly) no longer ranked world number 1, where as Nadal always comes across as a very respectful humble individual, Federers just a classes prick whos won loads of titles in a shit era of tennis and looked better than he really is.

Never the best of all time, no one can be labbled the best ever when someone in their own era quite conclusively has the upper hand in their one to one meetings….Nadals absolutely owned Federer ever since he came on the scene and proven time and again hes the better player on any surface.

Wow just seen Hewitt beat Federer, can't believe that.

He said that before the French and yeah he's bloody arrogant. I hate him.

Even when he loses he always finds way to blame something or the other instead of praising his opponent. And he can be quite classless as his exchanges with Murray and Djokovic has shown.

Federer had mocked Djoko in some way over "his breathing problems"

Thats what aggravates me the most, never any respect or congratulations for his opponents its all about how things didnt go ‘his way’ how the nasty Hawkeye system wasn’t right or playing fair or how the wind kept blowing from the south or any other pathetic excuse for his defeat….anything but to pay respect to the opponent and admit he was outplayed.

Nadals one of the most likable characters in the game, always respectful always polite and praising of his opponent and gracious in both victory and defeat...Federes just a classless tit whos let the success go to his head, hence why I hope he loses every single time he takes to the court.

Could be the most open Wimbledon ever. I've already snapped up some 70/1 about Cilic last week on Betfair and will be looking for a couple of other outsiders once the draw is made. Federer is ludicrously short in the betting, Nadal I feel played perfect in 2008 and I kind of don't think that will happen again. Murray has been shit since the Aussie Open and Roddick had his big chance last year. Forget Djoko with his serving issues.

Just saw the advert. I'd forgotten about Wimbledon's existence. I can't see too many people actually being bothered about it this year with the World Cup on - don't know why they didn't put this on later
