Wimbledon 2009

Unless it's to slam his head repeatedly in the door.

Did anyone else see Greg's epic fail on Beat the Star? Unsurprisingly he seems to have had all evidence of it removed from Youtube. Quite how a professional sportsman managed to be that retarded and uncoordinated is beyond belief.

Holy shit, this is going on and on.

The other bloke looks like he could win this as well. Been impressed by him seeing as he's only ranked 19th I think. He's played well, but this needs to end soon as I'm going out of my mind!

Anyone else finding that the floodlighting is providing a bit too much light, making it hard to distinguish the ball from the grass?

Fantastic match.

Rudolf put up a good fight, but Murray was excellent. At least now he gets to be British for another couple of days at least.

Incredible

Murray looked out on his feet at the end

Best game of tennis I've seen for some time, fair play the Swiss lad performing like that against the home player there

Why do the English crowd get behind Murray? Do they support Scotland if they play some other country in football? It's weird.

FUUUUUUUUUUUCKING RIGHT !!!

The Tiger Woods fist pump was in full force when he hit that winning shot, TRUST me

My co-workers were laughing their asses off but I give a feck.

Not easy from now on, he can do it, COME ON MURRAY !

 He's British when he wins, he's Scottish when he loses.

He he. Exactly.

The interviewer was asking stupid questions.

As always. If there's one thing the British media love to do, it's hype sportsmen up to the max. It'll be one thing to get to the final, but another altogether to beat Federer.

He just got done with an epic match and the guy's asking him questions like "that must've required a lot of mental strength..?" and then follows it up with cringeworthy suggestive bile hoping Murray will say "yes, I love the english crowd.". Pathetic.

What do you expect? He's number 3 in the world. This isn't like the hype Beckham used to get - if they had rankings in footie he wouldn't have made the top twenty.

Excellent gutsy performance from Murray

However, if he doe'snt start hitting his 2nd serve with some power and take a few risks with it he'll get dumped out of it

He'll get eaten alive by Federer hitting such a tentative 2nd serve

He's gotta give them 10 percent more and maybe risk a few more double faults but at least not let a power player walk all over it like this guy did

Fking well played though under the cosh there in that last set

To be fair that's what all interviewers do. The questions are always suggestive.

Great match, well done Andy.

I hate it when they have someone interviewing Murry right after his matches, you can tell he thinks their idiots (which they almost always are) but he handles the questions well enough.

Rediculous match. I really thought Murray was going to blow it, he was serving rotten all match. He'll need to get his first serve percentage back if he's to progress further never mind the final. We'll see how much this took out of him on wednesday.

It took enough out of me just watching it! Fantastic stuff though, Wawrinka played possibly the match of his life there and still Murray managed to pull through in the end, credit where it's due to both players for what was the game of the tournament so far.

It was Henmanesk from Murray, that's worrying!

To be fair, it's as much a British crowd as it is English. He is representing Britain at tennis, afterall.

What do you expect? He's number 3 in the world. This isn't like the hype Beckham used to get - if they had rankings in footie he wouldn't have made the top twenty.

Number 3 in the world, but he probably won't win Wimbledon. Just like Henman, who was tipped to win it almost every year during his time in the top 10. They also do it with England at World Cups, as you know.

I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, because it does sell. I just find it comical.

We're all British. We don't split the countries when it comes to tennis, and a lot of other sports come to think of it.

One of the biggest benefits of the roof/lights is the ability to finish late matches, meaning Murray now has a complete day to rest and practice before the Ferrero match.

Talk about getting the blood levels up. Give me the simple three setters over this any day!

Well done Andy. Really is a top, top player.

Murray does have a chance and to be fair he's playing at a time when mens tennis is really at a fantastic level. He will win a grandslam but i understand your point rednev.

It is rediculous the hype surrounding him and it really can't help his cause which is probably why he likes the US Open more than Wimbledon, he can go about his tennis without the spotlight and for my money the US is still his best chance at a grandslam.

Do you root for Scotland, Wales in football then? Do you feel any passion for those countries as they're part of Britain?

No one ever believed Henman would win it though, but Murray actually has a chance.

He has more of a chance than Henman, but I still think it's a big ask this year.

It gets a bit cringe when the whole country starts talking about him winning. It wouldn't be so bad if they did it sensibly, but most people just get carried away.

I can see 'Britain Expects' on the front page of the papers should he make the final.

He is a better player on the hardcourts. He played Warinka at Flushing last year and rolled him over in three sets. On grass he's in a group of players behind Nadal and Federer. I think he'll beat Ferrero but Roddick will be very tough in the semis. I'd back the American if they make Andy too strong a favourite.

England, Scotland and Wales all have their own National teams. In tennis they play under the British flag, whether its on the tour or in the Davis Cup. Its like supporting all the Athletes at the Olympics because thats Britain too.
