Alright

How much do you want to bet on Heskey vs Forlan?

Heskey's more likely to get more minutes, but I bet you Forlan has a better goals to minutes average.

I'm pretty sure Forlan will outscore Heskey regardless of playing time (barring long term injuries).

True they both have long hair, but that's not where the similarities end as:

Poborsky = overrated flop and
Forlan = " "

Both were dreadful. Seeing him "develop into a great m/f" should be a laugh. Fergiescum doesn't even know who to pick their already to accomodate Seba. He's hardly going to do similar to fit in with Forlorn's m/f greatness is he? I suggest he concentrate his efforts on goalkeeping. There is plenty of opportunity to get into the team there. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>

Another couple of well thought out points. You're obvously quite the expert, both on football and wit...

Have you seen him play at all? As for the "overrated" bit: Poborsky was bought as a world cup star, expected to work wonders from the start. Forlan's one for the future, bought from relative obscurity. Unlike Poborsky, the club's willing to give Forlan time to grow and adapt.

And why can't he be a good midfielder in the long run? Because Veron hasn't been as good as we expected? What's that got to do with anything?Name me one quality required in a good midfielder that Forlan lacks?

I wouldn't swap our cat for Heskey

Ability? He didn't make any impression last night. He simply can't impose himself on a game

You'll have to be careful of "divide by zero" errors ;)

He's had a decent pre-season. Its time to do the business now. I worry for him if he goes 4 or 5 game without a goal. 'When' he does score he'll have to be careful not to get injured under the pile of relieved Man Utd players :D

This will come as a blow for GH..

I've heard he was going to offer Heskey as a direct swap for Forlan..

He covers Forlan apparantly..

Who wouldn't tho?

forlan played like that bloke in the beer suit last night

running off into touch just finished it for me

but heskey is shite to

That beer bloke was amusing weren't he? Top job, walking around a ground dressed as a pint..

I pissed myself laughing when Forlan ran into touch...I'm sure even a few of you Mancs smiled.. ;)

the beer bloke was funny as feck

Did you watch it on the Beeb?

Motson was funny when Forlan was coming on..his co commentator reminded the nation that Forlan has yet to score

Motty responded in a very grave voice

"Yes he still has a fair bit to prove"

;)

Goal scoring..

;)

I take it you're thinking of him as a wide midfielder? So you've bought a striker for over 7m and now realised that he can't hack it....so you're going to try to convert him to a right winger or something?

Excellent..

I didn't buy him Davo. I'm just offering my opinion on the guy's qualities. Just like I'd like to see Silvestre get a go as a wide midfielder. If Forlan makes it as a midfielder, it would be, as you say, excellent... :)

I'm sure Heskey wasn't signed primarily for his ability to defend corners either. Yet, that has become his main purpose apparently...

;)

We'll see how he develops then...give him a fair chance and a bit of time..

Here's a prediction tho...

He'll prove to be a flop

Prove to be a flop? He's already a flop :p

Of course I'd love to swap Forlan for Heskey! Can you imagine Heskey's big arse in goal (after adapting him into a goalie)? We'd have cleen sheets almost every game ;) C'mon Heskey.... or... - not?
