Personally, I'd say NO.

We don't need one dimensional footballers of no skill or finishing playing for United.

At least Dion stayed on his feet and was actually quite good at heading the ball. The same cannot be said of Donkey...

No way.

As a Liverpool supporter, I would say no way. Heskey has scored in the PL if nothing else. He got 14 goals last year+ does a very good job defensively for Pool. Forlorn reminds me of Carol Proborsky. I would fear RVN and Solskjaer. Seeing Forlorn in a starting XI would warm any rivals supporters 'cockles.' I think he has had long enough to adapt now. He's a turkey, and every club has them.

YES!

The same day I'd swap Keane for Murphy ;)

Just in case that's not clear (cold sweat here) that's really a NO NO NO NO NO NO WAY NEVER

Jesus H, what a scary thought

And just for the record that's also a NO to ANY Man United player for ANY Liverpoo player - ANY!

I swear, hand on heart, that I wouldnt want Man United to swap Owen and Gerard for Phil Neville (sorry to pick on Phil). And I mean that. It's not right!

Then you're disturbed in the head MancFanFromManc :)

Sorry, can't agree with that, I'd give them Phil AND Gary for Owen and Gerrard.

:D

Buy him Fergie!

A striker who can defend corners - must be worth £30m at least!!!

Nevermind that he's a rubbish attacking player, and that he couldn't score in a brothel..

I dont think so pal. I'm living in the real world here.

1. You have to drag any Liverpoo player kicking and screaming to our club - what's the point in buying players who dont want to play for the club

2. They'd have to put in some pretty special performances to convince the fans they were giving their all

3. Any time they were injured (and with Owen and Gerard that's nearly always) they'd be accussed of not 'wanting' to play

It just wouldnt work. I'm not saying they're not good players, but I AM SAYING that they wouldnt want to play for us.

My heads fine thanx

I promise you that if that happened you'd end with 4 very unhappy players who just wouldnt cut it. This the real world not freakin Championship Manager!

Hmm... you may have a point, but at least if that happened, our team will be weakened very slightly, but the dippers will be mid table material...

NOOO, To replacing a small problem with a Huge(as big as a donkey)one. The only players I would be intrested in from Liverpool are Owen(3rd striker) and Hyppia(to fight it out with Brown and O'shea) as for Gerard, he is way over-rated.
:D

You obviously have great knowledge about the game...

How does Forlan remind you of Poborsky? Just because they look vaguely similar?

And Heskey's played many more games on the trot without scoring than Forlan did last year as a starter. Diego's a versatile player (I can see him developing into a great midfielder) who - unlike the donkey - has got some basic skill apart from size.

I wouldn't swap in a million years. I have a very good feeling about Forlan, and expect him to be a big surprise this year...

True they both have long hair, but that's not where the similarities end as:

Poborsky = overrated flop and
Forlan = " "

Both were dreadful. Seeing him "develop into a great m/f" should be a laugh. Fergiescum doesn't even know who to pick their already to accomodate Seba. He's hardly going to do similar to fit in with Forlorn's m/f greatness is he? I suggest he concentrate his efforts on goalkeeping. There is plenty of opportunity to get into the team there.

To be fair to Heskey he did score quite a few goals a couple of seasons back, something like 18 goals which ain't bad for a player with little skill and just brute strentgh. There are advanatages of having a powerful attacker with pace, and Heskey has shown in glimpses that he can put these attributes to good use, but doesn't do often enough.

Personally I prefer players with a little finesse and trickery, Forlan has that and I'm sure given time, he'll show us what a good player he is.
Could Heskey have scored a goal like the spectacular one Forlan scored during the World cup? Never in a million years.

Forlan - are you One_Hit_Wonder????

Just a random take from lfc.tv messageboard - what the scousers say about Heskey:

"Someone posted the other day that he has the first touch of a drunken elephant"
I don't like criticising him and have backed him in the past. But the number of times his attempts to control a ball have resulted in the ball flying 20 yards from himhave worn me down.
I don't think I'd sell him though. He has played a lot of good games. A rest on the bench and a few reserve games might do him good.

If that does not work then get rid of him."

"after a season supporting him last year i now no my biggest mistake was supporting him as he is rubbish.
he is lazy crap useless dosent do anything and i do not know what gh sees in him

we must sell him now and have diouf and owen with baros as back up"

"GOAT!! That's very very harsh,

on goats that is.I prefer complete and utter donkey myself, although donkeys do run with a bit of purpose.I really would like to know what hold he has over GH and Sven to make them keep picking him. He must have some wicked dirt on the pair of them. "

"Drunken elephant? I like that one. I think I'll use that above complete and utter donkey now. If we can get decent money for him then sell, but I don't think we will. It's something that I have said in the past. The only players that we will get good money for are Owen, Gerrard and Hyypia (possibly Riise) and we don't want to sell them. The rest of the squad (apart from the new boys as I haven't seen them play enough) are distinctly average. "

There are insults on Heskey/Smicer and co LITERALLY flying all over the place among the scousers (even in topics that aren't particularly aimed at these players, they will usually throw in a sarcastic comment or two about, especially, RedCafe's Scousers' favorites: Heskey.

Edit: it's interesting to see how the scousers seem more cruel and more imaginative than fans of other clubs when describing Heskey.
