Will Garnacho's goal be bettered this season?

I’d like a thread on Rooney vs Garnacho, which one was better

Two of the best goals I’ve seen

Goal of the season already.

During the half time break I was texting a mate who supports Man. United and said it was a better goal than the Rooney one v Man. City all those years ago that I think won GOTS. Looked up and Sky were showing that goal. It was better even if the magnitude of the game wasn't quite the same.

I'm not sure if it's the best overhead ever... but I can't think of a better one off the top of my head.

The Rooney one, the Zlatan one against England, the Ronaldo one for Real where all the Juve fans applauded it... it's better than all of them.

Still, GOTS.

Bale in the CL final is the best ever.

Now wait and watch Arsenal players trying emulate it, one week later, and AFTV calling it goal of century.

Nope. The fact that he had to backtrack 5 yards after Dalot overhit the cross made it all the more impressive. Just a perfect goal in every sense of the word.

Never understand why Zlatan’s one is so highly regarded. It was an open goal.

Garnacho was closer to the edge of the box than the penalty spot. The angle, the way it rocketed into top bins, the angle of the ball basically coming in from behind him. Yeah I'll highly doubt we'll see another goal as good in a long time.

From a mufc point of view it's a better goal than Rooney's and much harder to pull of. Although granted, Rooney's defo has the occasion.

Hard to imagine how. One the best I've ever seen. Top's Rooney's bicycle kick for me

It’ll take one of the greatest ever EPL goals to do so. It’s one of those goals that’ll appear on EPL intro videos for years to come

I may be in the minority but Wazzas' goal is still top for me.
I think it’s the approach of the ball that devalues Rooneys and it was off his shin. He just (!) had to reshuffle his feet in place because it was deflected and looping. This is Ronaldo v Juve and its even beating that

Incredible goal but I don't tend to rate bikes that highly because even for top players its basically hit-it-hard-and-pray. Nobody is aiming a bicycle kick for the top corner or anything like that. You're just trying to make solid contact in the general direction of the goal and from there its basically luck.

How do you carry on playing a game of football after scoring a goal like that is the question for me. Because nothing you do in the rest of the game can possibly top it. Unbelievable goal.

Usually when a goal like that happens, we see a similar one very quickly afterwards.

Remember Giroud's scorpion kick right after Mkhitaryan's and we haven't seen one since. This one will be more difficult to emulate though.
Thought exactly the same.

Maybe the one by Rivaldo was even better. But it was a while

Theres more element of "hit and inshallah" in Dalot's cross than Garnacho's overhead kick. Garnacho actually meant it while Dalot was... uh... he tried.

So yeah he deserves it. He moved and kept his eyes on the ball the whole time. It was not only luck, it was a technique. Dont think it will be bettered.

It is ridiculous. He ran away from the goal to time the jump and shot to perfection. Simple ridiculous.

the law of averages says that one of the nine liverpool score against us at the game at anfield this season is bound to be a cracker.

When you say “us” you mean Man City? Wired that you think you’ll concede 9 to them

It's up there alongside Sinclair's and Van Basten's v Den Bosch (his one v Gothenburg was also brilliant) as the best I've ever seen. Ronaldo's, Rooney's and Bale's also incredible.

It cannot be surpassed in terms of quality. The only way it can arguably be bettered is if a similar standard of goal is scored in some sort of title decider. The occasion tends to carry a bit of weight in these debates.
