He's actually very good player and a good squad option to have. No need to turn it down on a free transfer. People bemoan lack of squad depth but then turn their noses up at squad depth that's coming for free.

On a free I'd probably take him, although I don't really see the point. Aren't we going to go big on a number 9? Sancho, Antony, Rashford, Garnacho, Diallo, new number 9, Zaha. 7 players for 3 positions. Actually sounds quite good with plenty of goals in it. Elanga, Weghorst, Martial, and Pellistri out.

Much as I hate to say it I think that he would be a better player for us than Sancho
He doesn't seem as good as he was a few seasons ago in the times I've seen him. The numbers are okay considering Palace are not particularly amazing I suppose. It would be kind of strange to get him at this age instead of years ago, but maybe it's purely about price and pragmatism. I think the main reason he never got a move was he was too key to Palace to sell for a price anyone was willing to pay. He's certainly good enough to play a role for a bigger side.

He wasn't good enough back when we signed him and he isn't good enough now. He found his level at Palace.
