Why don't refs use a hover board, segway or something similar?

Some already a bit overweight. No need for more aid. Keep it as is so they stop reffing when they are old enough not to be able to run.

Why not just robots instead of human beings? AI has gotten to the point where robots could take the pitch and call the game as it really is without any of the biases of human beings. No modern robot would have fecked up the alleged handball call against Rashford, right?

I would like that. It would be glorious to see a robot ref deservedly sending off a player 30 seconds into a World Cup final. None of the "it's too early, don't want to ruin the game" rubbish.

Sure why don’t you have them with a tractor and plough, sewing potatoes to help the government out at the same time?

With the increasing use of AI in football why not just use an avatar/hologram of Pierluigi Collina? Could use several spider cams monitoring every inch and angle of the playing surface programmed with the judgement of the greatest referee of all time. No more refs getting in the way or limitations of physical fitness.

*I actually like this idea.

Just turn the refs into cyborgs with all the camera and VAR equipment inside them and the ability to fly. No player is going to start on that kind of ref

Strap one of these to each foot and off they go.

Refs don't need to run around so much, they aren't playing the sport they are officiating. So why aren't refs using some kind of device to get around quick, saving their physical energy and giving them more mental energy to make better decisions?

The only question is, which vehicle is best?

A low hovering referee helicopter would give the best possible angle for all situations. When players get feisty the ref can simply tilt the rotorblades and remind the players that if they dont calm down they will be red carded all over the pitch, and the rotorblades

Jet pack boots. Maybe Elon Musk can buy football and make it happen.
