Who'sThe Better Defender?

Like I said, I think its completely open to intepretation who is the better defender. I have my concerns about Nesta, not so much the footballer, but the overall player and how he would adapt to life in the Premiership.

Rio said he would decide today. Does this mean that he'll issue a statement or hold a press conference to let everyone know of his decision?

I reckon not. He'll tell Venables, venables will approach the board, then he'll get an asking price or be told Rio is not for sale. If a price is given, Venables gets on the phone to SAF to say he's available, SAF already knows the price the board are willing to pay and tells Kenyon, Kenyon gets on the phone to Risdale......

Friday, BIG press conference after a medical. ;)

There was also a report suggesting he'll wait til Wednesday to decide.

everyones forgetting, we have supposedly signed mexes for next year, is he not a sweeper style player?????

Supposedly.

I've been hearing about 'players we've signed for next season/have options on' for several years. Never happened.

Anyway, if we get Ferdinand I doubt we'll go for Mexes.

also i think gary neville will be our main ragged CB, in taht he is not the sweeper type, with RIO and Blanc fighting for the sweeper spot.

or maybe Querez has different idea's and plays 3 at the back, with silvestre and beckham as full backs, with becks doing his famous long passes.

veron, keane and scholes in the middle with giigs/duff behind ruud.

what ya think

OK, if Rio decides to go, how can the Leeds board refuse to sell....

They have allowed the player to make a choice...if they dont sell surely they know that Rio will be open to criticism from fans who will point to every mistake he makes for Leeds in the coming season as evidence of a player not wanting to play for them...foootball is a strange game.

I dont think it is a question of refusing a deal if Rio wants to go, it just a question of price. Otherwise Rio would have been given no choice....by Venables.

I hope not the 5 I saw at the WC. If it it is, then this guy has the best PR team in the world.
