There hasn't even been a new Pro Evo on the PS3 yet so can't really say what it will be like, it won't be the same as the PS2 version anyway.
 
I'd reckon the the new PES on the 360 will be better than the last, Konami really seemed to mess up on that one. I still don't understand why they removed so much stuff from it like Stadiums and the abillity to edit? The controls probably still won't translate though.

I'm not sure I'll get either this year, I've spent far too much time playing on Pro Evo and I think I'd like to move on. They just haven't improved them enough over the years either.
 
They were rushing it out as quick as possible, ended up skimping on loads of stuff. Its all been put back in for the next one thankfully.
 
Don't have a console. So FIFA on PC for me.

Early reports are indicating (this is via Gamespot) that the PS3 version of PES has better graphics and lighting effects.

Konami have been working on the PS3 version for 2 years. If you've got both consoles i'd go for the PS3 version.

Or just wait and see what the reviews say for each console version and choose the best one.
 
Read the impressions from a PES freak on another site who went to the Leipzig convention to play it. Gameplay graphics are only slightly improved, close-ups of players and facial expressions are well done overall, the game plays at the same pace as PES6 but due to better animation it looks faster, again no 2 vs 2 play, keepers are slightly improved in one on ones (but AI of them still leave much to be desired), AI has improved and it's become even more of a passing game. He also didn't manage the dive, the ref seems to see through it everytime.

He also played FIFA and said it's surprised him. They've seemingly worked harder AGAIN (lazy fecking Konami) to improve their game: graphics and animations are moved up another notch, many more options than pes, played better than fifa 7, but still doesn't reach PES level. The AI remains very average.
 
PES. It's 80% of the reason why I bought a PS3 recently, although since having got it there's plently of other reasons to love it.

Used to love FIFA up until about 2004 then I discovered the genius that is PES. Can't even play my brother's FIFA for 5 seconds now it's so crap in comparison.

Trust me. They do that every fecking year. Every year, hearing all the promos from EA makes you so temped to buy FIFA just to realise it's a pile of shite.

For a lot of PC gamer, there was only FIFA for a long time until Konami make a PC version. So a lot of us probably play FIFA a long time to know how shite it is when we move to PES. FIFA is the yanks view of football. Much like their MLS league. Full of fancy crap.
 
Well look at it in this way. PES is a football simulation game and Fifa is an arcade game. It's like comparing Grand Turismo to Need for Speed. Both are very good games but different. Also I'm not sure if EA wants to make Fifa's gameplay mechanics as good as PES' because then it would lose it's customers. Those that buy Fifa are those that want an easy game to play. In order to master PES you have to learn difficult combinations and techniques but in Fifa you can be very good from the first game. It's more mainstream that PES if you like. However, after the fiasco on xbox 360 (PES6 was as shite as it could get) I'll buy Fifa 08.
 
I wonder what they will add new in Fifa 08... Every year they taunt about revolution.

Commercial crap.

Pro Evolution Soccer way better thanks to gameplay.
