Who would you prefer - James or Barthez?

I reckon theirs only a couple of world class keepers in the world to be honest, Kahn, Buffon and possibly Toldo ifim being kind...I still maintain Niemi has everything to succeed at the top level, i know it's unfair to compare him to "that" great dane, Schemichael, but he does bear a resembelance, stature wise atleast.

James im not fond of in the slightest, good shot stopper, fecking awful decision maker.

I do not object to everything you post, but you are so bloody negative, and hardly ever give valid reasoned arguments. No, James is not any better than Barthez, but he is no worse.

James no worse than barthez? Are you sure? Then why FFS can't he get his place from Seaman until the very recent months? Does it mean that Seaman is better than Barthez?

Barthez is a world class goalkeeper. He has the shot-stopping skill and reflex not worse than anyone else in the world. I will only be happy if he stay with us. However if Fergie really want to replace him, that must be because Fergie think he is not stable enough.

But believe me, there are a lot of stable and capable goalkeeper in the world (when I say "world class" I don't mean the top three or so, I mean the goalkeepers who have proven to be stable, not easily beaten, and have the class and ability to perform on the highest level.) The two goalkeepers of Real, the keeper of Valencia, the italian keepers Toldo, Buffon and Cudincini, Turkey keeper Rustu, the keeper of Uruguay in the WC2002, Brazilian Macros in WC2002, German keeper Kahn, EPL keepers Fridel, Neimi, Given, Van der Sar, or even Dudek... Every name I mention here are better and more well proven than James. And tell you, I mainly watch EPL only and I seldom watch football in other leagues, otherwise may be I can name you two dozens more goalkeepers who are better than James!

;)

But seriously, I didn't see enough of him last night to suggest whether he'll be good or not for Utd - tho' Jones is not too bad! :)

They are both clowns in my opinion. Tim Howard is the way forward from what i've seen of him :D

you do talk some fecking drivel sometimes. YES, Seaman is better than Barthez. Even the most bitter United fan would probably tell you that. (on second thoughts they probably wouldnt but thats because they wear blinkers)

That pony-tailed uncle Seaman is better than Barthez Oh this thread is really getting more and more interesting now. Why don't we go for him immediately? He will be out of contract soon so that's definitely a great steal for us!
