Who wins united player of the season

Only two players worth talking about really and it’s Fred and DeGea. I’d maybe edge towards DeGea as he had some incredible games that made the score look better than they should have been, but Fred in recent months has shown what just commitment will do.

It will probably be De Gea but what a joke that is. He's a great shot stopper. No doubt. His YouTube is phenomenal. But as good as he is at making saves, he's average to poor at every other aspect of his position and I firmly believe we would concede less with a different keeper in goal who liked to come off his line and communicate to his defense. Think about it. Ever since De Gea came in all of a sudden Rio and Vidic weren't good enough anymore. Then Smalling wasn't good enough. Then Jones. Then Maguire. Who's next? Verane? This team would be so much better with a proper keeper (De Gea can't even make Spain's bench anymore) and a proper DM. Imagine Liverpool without Allison and Fabinho or City without Ederson and Roddri.

honestly i think they should consider cancelling this .....

most players have played like they havent want to be at the club....

Have a womens/youth team event

James Garner, nobody said he has to be playing for us at the time just that he is ultimately a United Player Wouldn't end his loan early either and subject him to our 5hit environment. Otherwise Elanga.

If I had to pick one of our actual regulars bunch then prob Fred at least he's honest, plays to his ability mist games.

How's OG been this season? Quiet season for him and (pen).

Daniel James. Only player who contributed anything worthwhile to the club this season.

I would have like to have said Ronaldo but his goals & level of performance has dried up since the start of 2022 with only rare shining lights every now & then, so, you'd have have to go with DDG, Varane has done ok but been injured too much & Sancho had a little purple patch but not enough during the season so far, everyone else has been average to poor.

These players can't do any worse next season (even with a WC interrupting things), can they? (If they are still here)

Has to be De Gea, Fred gets an honorable mention but no way should he be ahead of De Gea and what he's had to suffer through.

Fred. De Gea is the only other player with a case but in reality it's been one of his poorer seasons compared to his other POTS years.

One thing I will say about De Gea though is that he's one of the few senior players I actually respect. The guy might have his flaws on the pitch but I love his honesty in interviews, looks like is a respectable/likeable bloke and even if he doesn't exude leadership seems like a great professional. Sad that he spent his career here when he did, would've loved to have seen him in those title winning SAF lead sides.

Fred deserves some respect. Every league winning team has their Fred equivalent, if anything ours is actually better than most when you look at his attacking capabilities and shooting. It’s not his fault the rest of the team is crap. At City it’s Gundogan, Liverpool had Wijnaldum, put him besides a top CDM and consistent AM and he’ll be the gel that glues it together.

But POTY goes to Dave De Gea….. again.

Comparing Fred and Gundogan is a errrr interesting take.

Has to be De Gea. Despite the complaints of him not being a modern goalkeeper the guy has stood on his head multiple times this season making incredible saves to preserve points that would've otherwise been lost.

Fred is definitely the most improved player, not sure if we do an award like that.

What people don’t realise is that individually many of our players would be better at other clubs and many of our rival clubs players would be rubbish at our club.

De Gea is pretty much the only play who didn't let us down. Fred had the best attitude and spirit within the team so he's in with a shout. All the rest can feck off.

Alternatively we could introduce a "Worst player of the season" award as a sort of Wooden Spoon. The trophy could be a crystal clear hollow ball with a dog sh!t inside.

Waiting around to score goals is the only thing he does. The fact that he's a passenger the other 85 minutes is an issue.

This is probably right. Maybe Elanga?
Perhaps if there's a category for most overrated? Apart from the few goals that he scored, he hasn't really been anything special.

Played an important part in some key goals this season. Like the build up to Elangas equaliser vs Atletico. The last minute winner against West Ham. As two examples. Both where he dropped deep to make something happen.

So even with that, I disagree. It’s just something lazy journalists say and people swallow.

If Ronaldo wasn’t Ronaldo, with the expectations attached that come with Ronaldo. And it was Rashford having the exact same season, people would be saying he was the best player unanimously. It’s just because it’s Ronaldo

No awards should be given out this season.

Why not??

The youth teams of both genders have been hugely successful this season, and the women's first team have also done very well.

So why should their respective season's not be rewarded??

There is sooooo much more to this club, then just the men's first team, sadly some people act as if this club is only or just the men's first team, when it really isn't.

Has to be the fans for having the patience to sit through this shitshow.

None of the attackers or defenders deserve it. Maybe Fred or DDG. Though Its the lowest of bars this season.

The OP was clearly talking about the first team which is what I was replying to so don't know what your ranting off about.

Phil Jones.

If not DDG or Fred as most others has said. Id be inclined to give it to DDG.

Everyone has been somewhat shit, even Own Goal. Nah, must DDG or Ronnie if I had to choose.
