who still thinks liverpool are boring?

We all know that Liverpool are boring, most Liverpool fans admit it. If they win the Premiership it will be a sad day for english football, because no one wants a boring, lucky team to win it.

One thing is for sure is that they will never win the Champions League playing such boring and simple football.

Even Phil Thompson on Sky Sports said today that they play ugly football.

you've all been ABLs so long you'd all but forgotten about it. but now we're looking likely to win the league in the next couple of years, you're all reverting to type

what the hell has louis edwards done to you? and by the martin edwards is still at the club so using past tense on him shows you are particularly dumb.

martin edwards is no longer the owner and chairman, is he? that was the context of my past tense

as for louis edwards? forget the way he stalked small shareholders and used whatever tactics he could to gain a majority ownership of united. forget the way he played on the munich air disaster for his own personal ends. even forget the scandal of his crooked share-dealings later in his life, but never ever forget the way he made his money ... black market profiteering during the war and the subsequent years of rationing. he was a crook and a true parasite of a man. evil through and through

it's not slander. first, because it's a statement made in a quasi-permanent form, which means that if it was a defamatory statement it would be libellous not slanderous

however, it's not defamatory for two reasons ...

first, you can't defame a dead person. he cannot be damaged by the statement.

second, it's true

do i have firm documented evidence? no. but is this something that was a commonly understood truth in manchester in the 50s and 60s? yes. during the second world war, my maternal grandparents ran a corner shop in salford, and my grandfather - though a united fan - had nothing but contempt for edwards right up until the day he died. he knew exactly how he'd made his first minor fortune and always considered him an untrustworthy crook

so yes, my grandfather was bitter towards edwards.

me? i was just trying to make the point that arseholes who try to score points about john smith's utterly misjudged remarks about "chelsea fans" or who persist in calling liverpool fans "graverobbers" while quoting the sun and the star as their source, really ought to think better of it because one way or another we all live in glass houses

WTF are you on about? Who mentioned Chelsea? Do you have any idea why I passed comment about The S*n?

Lots of Liverpool fans in the Merseyside area boycot the Sun and I fully understand why (and sales there have never really recovered).

However, throughout the rest of the country the LFC fans still buy it. You see them at Crewe station on a Saturday reading it. I once asked one of them why they bought the Sun when they were so disrespectful to LFC in the past and he said "what are you on about?". Says it all really.

All tabloids are shit IMO

ps according to the official programme (in the chaimans notes) fartin is still the chairman
