'IF Sir Alex Ferguson is proved right and Manchester United are to be dethroned, then there is one big favour to be asked of Liverpool as the country's would-be champions:
Please, please, don't bore the pants off us in the process!
Whatever United do — win, lose or draw — they are still nothing if not spectacular.
We saw that again at the weekend — with Fergie's side taking a thorough beating at the hands of Chelsea, which surprised none of us who have described the goings on at Old Trafford as a genuine crisis...
How, you might ask, can anyone express such reservations about a team currently leading the Premiership with the kind of consistency Manchester United can only dream about?
Well, it's because Liverpool can be so utterly dull...'
that comes from someone who is always having a pop at united
