Who is the worst player you have seen play for United

Bloopers happen to the best, Fawaz. ;)

Barthez made 2 against Deportivo last season, Schmeichel, arguably United's best keeper, once let in 14 goals in 4 consecutive lost matches :) .

Taibi had only 4 matches for United & he was gone!

Jesper Olsen???...

Surely not....

I remember him scoring a hatrick against West Brom...

Two penalties but let's face it for a winger he got a lot of goals...

AND he was the best penalty taker I ever saw...

Until Eric, and he then rewrote the book... :D ...

Jesper Dosent deserve to be on any list that would identify him as one of the worst players that have played for united. Lest we forget the scintilating runs down the pitch to set up our strikers. His pass after his interception of a pass set up the first goal for united in Barca during the famous 3-3 draw. If it wasnt for injury he would still be in a united shirt. RICK please reconsider your choice.

PS - oscar74, were you talking about Mark Higgins from Everton?

Yes Higgins is the name - I still have nightmares about watching him hack at air in the spring as our glorious start that year turned into abysmal failure. Alan Brazil still probably my "favorite failure" though. He just looked so pathetic as he would sprint onto a long ball knowing that he was about to balloon it into the Stretford End. Also to my knowledge the only Utd player to be spat at by his own fans as he warmed up - not one of our proudest moments - but an accurate relection of his skill.[/QB]

he was out of order that higgins. i remember going to a testimonial for him at goodison when his career was supposed to be finished. the match was merseyside v manchester with teams from all four clubs. think it finished 7-6 to the scousers. don't know how much higgins got for the match - quite a big crowd turned up.

six months later he turns up at old trafford playing i the first team! how does that work then?

You are right - if I remember his insurance company had actually paid out on the injury policy and Utd. had to compensate them once he started playing. shame you can't buy insurance for being utterly crap coz Higgins would be a millionaire by now.

Peter Barnes was so bad I almost forgot he ever played for us.

I hope we won`t be writing Diego`s name on such a topic thread in the future. :( :( :( :(

:(

We get the excactly the same feeling. It's creepy. They are so depressingly alike it's scary.

What company is it? Not a corner shop?

Andy Goram without a doubt...a fat out of condition sunday league pub player. The worst example of the old boy network.
How Jesper Olsen gets a mention in this thread amazes me. A little lightweight perhaps, but he was a skillfull, exciting out and out winger. Not quite as direct as Stevie Coppell or as flash as Lee Sharpe at his absolute best. Still, one of the bright notes of the Atkinson era for my money.
