Who is the strongest player in the PL?

I always remember Elokobi getting out-muscled by Nani.

Nani also put Marseille's massive full back on his arse when we played them. Dunno if that means he's incredibly strong or just happened to catch them both off balance. Probably a bit of both.

Rio once tweeted something about Valencia lifting crazy heavy weights in the gym, so the strongest players won't necessarily be the most obvious ones.

This. He's also been put on his arse a fair amount of times.

That doesn't surprise me, Valencia is a tank, another one missed out of the list. Like I said in the OP, there are a lot of players in the PL who are tonks'

Very true. However I think if both of them were really going for it Nani would never have stood a chance.

I wouldnt say Vidic always bullies Drogba.

Drogbas a beast, on his day, he would bully anyone. Vidic (as much as I love him also) included.

There is no logic to that. Reality suggests that vidic usually gets the better of drogba. I don't know where you pulled the 'he would bully vidic' out from.

Don't worry Vuc, I think Hargreaves is the fastest, strongest, most fit and best player in the PL.

I also do but not because he is Canadian, it's because he has Tiger Blood

"strongest" player is really tough to name.

By pure brute strength it has to be Samba or some other physically huge player.

"Strongest" as in strongest on the ball then it changes everything. Drogba, Tevez and Rooney are all incredibly strong when dribbling.

Fanni?

Tevez is one I overlooked - as did everyone else by the look of it.

Anderson isn't small and he bounced off Toure, Toure eats baby elephants for breakfast

Anderson was my original guess until I remembered that!

Toure's a shrick brithouse.

Heskey.

Has no idea what to do with it though.

He's built, but having seen him get out-battled by Darren Fletcher and Craig Beattie, it would be fair to say he doesn't know how to use his size.

Yes I mentioned the same thing earlier. There are many players like this, who have muscle mass but yet are pushed off the ball, when it really looks like they shouldn't be.

The strongest players IMO are the ones who have balance and can ground themselves i.e. Tevez.. that mixed with actual physical strength, which is why I think Ivanovic is up there.. I'd like to hear a Chelsea fans opinion on this, because obviously a lot of people think its laughable despite him out muscling any player he is up against..

I once saw Heskey up close in a shop I used to work at before uni. Put simply, there isn't a single England fan out there that would say the things to him in person that they used to say to the television when he was playing. Human Being Mk II, physically.

It's Elokobi. If he saw this, he would eat everyone that suggested someone else.

That thing that loiters around opposition penalty areas for West Brom?

Noone for Antonio Valencia?

Good shout. My word this man is strong. I genuinely wouldn't fancy anyone in our whole squad to 'out-muscle' Antonio fecking Valencia and that includes Vidic. The Human Brick.

He made Leighton Baines his bitch last season, tossing the guy around like a rag doll.

I think Valencia got a freekick against him today for being unlawfully strong, unless I was hideously biased at the time.

Elokobi by a mile.

Sure he chose the right sport!!! I'm sure the sharks are after a new prop!

Best game I ever saw him play was when we beat Arsenal 4-0. Won every single header that day and generally just shoved the defenders aside whenever he wanted to do something with the ball. For the 2nd (where **** scored the rebound), he basically just ran over Keown like he wasn't there to take a shot at the keeper.

Best target man performance I've ever seen. If he had the same tenacity as Drogba and had been able to build on his performances from his first full season with us, he could have been a monster of a player.
