Who Do You Prefer? Week One - Eric Cantona vs Roy Keane

Something I thought might bring about some interesting discussion. Every week Im going to make a new poll, pitting two United players against each other and allowing people to vote on who their favourite is/was, and preferably, a post to explain your selection.

There is no critieria for selection. This is based on the players overall appeal - footballing ability, influence, achievements, personality....anything you can think of. Quite simply, as the title says, its who you prefer.

I'll have to go with Eric but purely and simply because he is the very first player that I saw as being a level above pretty much anyone!!! The guy had an aura about him that seemed to only warrant respect from everyone!!! Pure class and he knew it but in a good way.
 
I would choose Keane as a footballer but overall appeal Le King. I think Sir Alex said it best when he said that Eric was the perfect Manchester United footballer.
 
Cantona for me. I don't even remember him that much but Keane's behaviour sometimes let him down.
 
Bit of a strange choice...

A better one would probably be Robson Vs Keane Vs Ince...

But anyway, I'd choose Eric

I'm only messing though.

I don't know really. Keane is the player I'd rather have on my team but Cantona had/has an aura of greatness.
 
Pretty tough one, Keane took us to our most monumental success but Eric really sparked us and to an extent the premiership for a few years.

Has to be Eric for me just because when he was a violent nutter he did in a suave french footballing James Bond kind of way.
 
Why do I have to prefer? My brain is big enough to cope with admiring both.
 
I love them both, they were both massively influential for us. Cantona revitalised the club in a way, his arrival sparked us and we won the league for the first time in 26 years. Keane on the otherhand was just like SAF on the pitch, our leader and no other captain in the history of the club has won more trophies than him.

Roy Keane is my all time favourite Manchester United player so i'll go with him.
 
Both great players, servants and legends of the club. Amazing leaders as well and so in that regard there's not much to choose.

So I'll go with who has the better personality and I'd rather have a drink with and Cantona wins that easily.
 
Cantona. Helped us win our first league title in a long time. Carried us more imo and helped the youth class of 92 to come into the main team and become the legends they are.
 
Witnessed more of Keane, so i'd have to pick him on that basis i'm not a youtube supporter
 
Cantona, keane has said thing about the club and seems a bit bitter about how we got rid of him which lets his legacy down a bit in my opinion.
 
Cantona was my absolute hero as a boy. My favourite memories from around then are the 94 and 95 cup finals. The man did it all perfectly.

Keane was integral to the treble, but I never had the feeling he was doing it all himself the same way I did with Cantona. Maybe that's just to do with age, but still.

Eric for me.
 
Keane wore his heart on his sleeve, a true inspirational captain... But Cantona was pure magic. I still get goosebumps when I see certain clips.

Cantona everytime.
 
That's like asking me to choose which of my girlfriend's tits i like the best, Righty or lefty.. Both are equally as awesome.
 
Surprisingly hard, this one..

My initial reaction was Eric, but my heart sort of says Keane. Roy was our Captain for so many years, and really was synonymous with Manchester United.

I'll go with Roy Keane.

Easy for me as Keane is my favourite ever player.

Pity that poll won't let me vote for him :(
 
Hahaa...tried to vote for Keano, but it said I've already voted. I smell a conspiracy :devil:
