Player-wise, I don't think anybody will leave except for david may. Thoughts?

What about Becks?? At a time when everyone is talking about the fact that we need to re-build should we look to bring in a world-class star to replace the world's "second best player"? I have read all the shite involving Pish Spice and her Mother's criticism of SAF's decision not to give Beck's a day off during the recent kidnapping incident.
I have also been a great fan of Beckham from a position that he has been a very good player for Utd. It is obvious that he is a great player for England but their standards thankfully have never been our's.
If the shite from his entourage got too demanding could we replace him with one of the world's best?

Fergie will need more money to rebuild the squad, Veron is surplus to our midfield, and he is consistently poor. So there is absolutely no reason he will still be here, if we win nothing this season.</strong><hr></blockquote>
SAF will sell Veron over his dead body. That would be tantamount to Fergie admitting that he made a 28 million pound cock-up. No way will it happen.
Though I do wish SAF will boot out at least one so-called superstar to show that he means business and serve as a warning to the rest of the squad.

Othervise we might find us without a adequate replacement like after the stam deal which left a hole in the squad IMO.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Actually you need a balance between buying and selling as if you buy first then when it comes to selling everyone knows you need to get rid and consequently you will get short changed.

Quesionable, depends on the amount of money in the bank. I do not think United are in a possition to sell any players before replacements are signed. The squad is not big enough. The other part backs down in the tranfer deal and you'd be fecked and panic buys is the only result.

You are seeing Veron too big in Fergie's heart, lchk. Fergie treat his "sons" (Becks, Giggs, Neville, etc.) bigger than anyone else. Look at Stam, Ince, Cole, etc. Neville can stay here even if he plays 20 bad games, but Stam must go because he do one wrong thing.
I don't think selling Veron will be any more difficult to Fergie than selling Stam or Cole. If we fail again this season, the club and the fans will put enormous pressure on him to do something, so he must sack Veron at that time (provided that he doesn't improve in the second half of the season) no matter he like it or not.

Selling Veron will prove difficult because there will not be a queue of clubs clamouring for his services.

That's a bit difficult. But I think Veron still have market in Italy. Though we must take a big cut price, of course.

Aren't Inter interested?

Verons problems lie in his inability to adabt to the English game, unlike you most managers of top European clubs will be aware of that fact, however there is no way that we will get what we paid for him.

The guy has never been consistent wherever he has played. He is a luxury. I am sceptical that he will be wanted by any of Europe's top clubs at all - he's hardly set Europe alight for us has he?

but he certainly has been one of the more solid ones IMO. i think Veron is the type of player that needs to be put right smack in the center of things.. every play has to go along with his game.. that's why we've been having problems, because veron plays a much slower game.. we can't adapt to it..
i don't think veron's to blame though..

Or someone who's contract ends and retiring anyway (Blanc). Not a lot would pay for his services!

I doubt that. I'd want to ask if he really has tried hard enough to adapt to OUR game. Take Saturday's game as an example. It was obvious that he looked casual, careless and couldn't care less for this derby match.

The only reason why I see that SAF would never sell Veron is the fact that he is the most expensive purchase in the entire squad and it was Fergie himself who constantly barracked the Board for big money until the money men finally relented and let him splash out for JSV.
To turn his back on his most expensive acquisition would mean a tremendous loss of face - and we all know how proud SAF is.

But from SAF view i cannot see him selling veron and his little baby P Neville</strong><hr></blockquote>
I think it's gotten to the point where the malaise is affecting the core of the team itself and it's not just about fringe players or squad depth. Certain first team player(s) may have to leave the club for the good of everyone. So getting rid of squad players by itself may not be enough.

I'd go with this, particularly because of the higher price they might get. Saw one season review video where SAF said that he couldn't turn his back on the price Lazio put on Stam's head (that they can't pay for anymore now!). Plus the board would probably want to recoup some of the money splashed out on Rio. I'd see some of the core players going, but the ONE player who I really would like gone would most probably stay. (And it's not Veron!)

He no longer is. Rio is the most expensive purchase now. That should have saved his face and pave the road for him to sack Veron
