I reckon there have only been four seasons since Fergie I feel are even worth bringing up. The rest were a total wash.

On balance, this season wins it for me hands down. We have some genuine talent and winners in the team, we've won some things, shown some fight and with the exception of a few collapses have looked pretty solid.

It's the only season I'm coming out of feeling optimistic and it's been the only season I've actually looked forward to each of our games as opposed to dreading them. We've finished entirely respectfully considering injuries, debacles and red cards and I just like the team and the staff.

If we can conclude the sale and do a bit of solid transfer business this summer, I think we're on for a very positive season and will be able to set a platform to be firmly back in Europe's elite in the 24/25 season. I'm not expecting massive things next season, but I couldn't have asked for much more from this one to set us on the right path.

This one. It's the first time we've seen significant progression in terms of pressing, counter-pressing, and occasional control in midfield.

Still a long, long way to go to increase our possession and build-up play. But the signs are finally there under a proper, modern manager. We just lack players in key positions who are great at ball retention, press resistance and passing.

Add a new goalkeeper, right back, a couple of midfielders, a winger and two strikers with these abilities, and we're close to challenging for the league.

Might take at least 2 more summer transfer windows to get there.

Mourinho's second season also deserves a shout, but both him and Ole played a counter-attacking style that never could develop into a league winning side. Especially with Pep and Klopp introducing their possession based styles dominating the ball instead of always trying high risk through balls on the break. City even moreso than Liverpool, which is reflected in the amount of PL trophies.

Van Gaal was onto something for a little while, but lacked the proper signings and it was all too slow, static and predictable.

Overall, the first season under Ten Hag has by far been the most promising season we've had post-Fergie, in my opinion.

Has to be this season. First time post-Fergie that we’ve managed to win a trophy AND finish top 4. It’s been that dire.

Overall, this has been my favourite season post-Fergie. My favourite game is still the 3-1 win vs PSG with Rashford's last minute penalty. Pure euphoria.

Mou’s first season was pretty fun, two trophies and Zlatan was great to watch. Pogba was great when fit and Mourinho was still in his charming, honeymoon mode.

19/20 was also enjoyable, it reached a bit of a nadir part way through but the Bruno signing was a revelation and he, Martial and Rashford all scored more than 20 goals. Greenwood not far behind either in what was his breakthrough season.

We did the league double over City with the second one at OT just before lockdown being particularly memorable.

Also we got to three semi finals that season which I totally forgot about!

Post lockdown was weird but fun and a good mood lightener as all the games were televised and came thick and fast. We played some really nice attacking football during this time as well.

This season has had its ups and downs but as been as enjoyable as either, if we win the FA Cup it’s not even close.

In terms of trajectory it’s clearly the strongest, and by some distance, it’s just at times it’s not been the most fun to watch (results wise, the football has always been good if you overlook our crap finishing)

This season (especially if we can win the FA cup) followed by 16/17

This one. Finally have the manager we need and playing good football, some of the time at least.
In addition, its been great seeing Chelsea and Lampard perform so badly, Liverpool miss out on Champions League football and Spurs be Spurs.

2015-16, at least that season none of our rivals won major trophies and we won FA cup.

Yeah watching paint dry was fun than watching our games.

This one hands down. At no other time did I feel we had a manager that was going to make us exciting long term.

Obviously this season. The other seasons had spells where we had some great moments, but as a whole, it's this one.

The thing with the Moyes season is, despite the fact that it was awful, it was also the most optimistic I've been (until now) post-Fergie. Not because there was anything in that specific season to make me optimistic, but because we were still so close to the Fergie era, I still had the attitude of "this will be fine; we're Manchester United" I just thought we'd bin this guy and things would be all good again...

We all know how that went, unfortunately.

It was 73/44 (gd in 20/21).

To answer the question, this season. Top 4 secured easily, a trophy and another final.

end of 16/17- beginning of 17/18 still, even though this season is close second.

But that season we were a very solid team, already won two trophies with Jose, and started the league so well. It was only then that I briefly thought we might actually be able to mount a title challenge and be competitive in Europe. Never really felt that after Sir Alex.

Mourino’s first season. Winning a European trophy felt so damn good. The football was good and I really felt like we were going places. There was even a football song at Old Trafford about how we are onto something good. Then it all turned to shit very quickly. Very fecking quickly.

This season has been fantastic, but a thrashing against City could really sour things so I won’t comment on this season just yet.

Mourinho's first season with Zlatan was fun to watch. Although we finished 6th, it felt like we were much better than a typical 6th place side. Got unlucky with a lot of draws in the league (15!), many of which should've been turned into wins.

Fun wouldn't be a word I'd use. Attended a good number of games that season including all knock out games in the Europa league and it was slog to watch against mostly average teams. Still don't know how John Guidetti missed that late chance for Celta Vigo.

1) lvgs last season. Emergence of rashford, his league debut vs Arsenal, the antics on the touchline where lvg fell over haha, Juan mata vs liverpool I,e juanfield, martials last minute goal in the semi final against Everton and the fa cup final.

2) Mourinhos first season. Dramatic league Cup final. 2-0 up,got clawed back to 2-2 then a late goal in the 87th minute by zlatan.

Juanfield was in LVG's first season, though.

2017 EL winning season with Jose where we completed all the 3 major europiean trophies. The football wasnt the best but its one for the history books

Mourinho's first season was great fun. Our Europa League win remains one of my favourite moments as a fan in the past decade or so. I remember bricking it so much up to the point of throwing up the contents of my stomach in the minutes right before kick-off, only to settle down after Pogba slotted home our first.

Honestly until we start to challenge once again for the trophies that really matter, PL and CL I can't say there is any favorite season up until now, post Fergie. There were ups and many downs but overall for me at least, there is much disappointment.
These 10 seasons post SAF will be regarded as a bad period in Utd's history, what I hope is that it will end soon, hopefully with ETH bringing back the glory days.

Probably 16/17. Loved having Ibra in the team, we won things and Pogo looked like it might just work out.

This season has had so many positives, but there's been a few really black days, (7-0 at Liverpool, 6-3 at City, Brentford etc) that take the edge off it. If we win the cup at the weekend I'll happily promote it to my favourite season in the last decade.

16/17 overall was the most enjoyable. Club felt like it was only going upwards: Mou as manager, Europa League & League Cup wins, and the additions of Zlatan and Pogba. Just felt like we were about to become regular PL & CL contenders despite finishing 6th. There was a buzz and energy around the club that hasn't been seen until this season to be honest. I think in the Ole years, despite good league results and fun football at times, it always kind of felt like that was the peak of what we could really become, but with Ten Hag there's a rejuvenated feeling of a more successful future to look forward to.

This question is better asked after the FA cup final. Currently the Mourinho season 16/17 just edges it but this season is close. Win the FAC and this season eclipses it.
Regardless i see real progress this season with a manager who is focussed, dedicated, sets standards and is a real coach.

I think it's a tie between this one and 16/17. If we win the FA Cup this season will trump 16/17.

This one if we win the fa cup, if not than Jose's first season followed by this one capped off by ole's second.

When you look at the typical lineups for each season, it's tempting to say the 20/21 season. We played the most fun football with the weakest team on paper. Should have won the EL that season though.
If we beat City in the FA-cup final it's hard to argue against this season though.

Honestly, nothing beats 20/21 so far - I loved the promise of that Ole side with Pogba, Rashford, and Greenwood and the fact that we had some brilliant results where we scored goals for fun and got some big games going our way. Also has emotional value since the pandemic was a dark time, and Ole's side genuinely made me very happy.

Then the 16/17 season, where Mou looked like he was bringing the arrogance back with that Zlatan led side.

And then this year. Maybe this season will mature better over time, but it's bumped down by the fact that we lost 7-0 to Liverpool. I just can't get over that.

Hopefully next year will trump them all.

Has to be this season tbh. If United managed to win the FA Cup, beating 'cheaty' in the process and stop them from winning the treble. with league Cup already in the bag, top 4 in the bag, it has to be this season.

This one, because it's the only season where i've felt we've actually picked the right manager and he will actually take us somewhere, the player camp has never felt so good.

Loved OGS too but I said from day 1 it was a mistake to make it permanent and we'd go nowhere
Hard not to like Mourinho but he made it so poisonous that I didn't really want to watch by the end
LVG was entertaining but the football was not and it felt soul destroying
Moyes I still couldn't believe we'd hired him, joke of an appointment, never believed we'd do anything with him

So whilst I watched and supported all seasons, it's only this one and beyond where I have had some actual hope of a team I can be proud of. We won things under Mourinho and LVG but the club/manager didn't know how to half suck the joy out of those wins

Van Gaal’s first season was fun in its own way, we had a lot of crap games but we seemed to hit another gear at our best that we’ve rarely hit since. It was also so exciting to have Di Maria, Falcao, Herrera arrive at the club at the same time to go with Mata, Rooney and Van Persie. Felt like fantasy football for a while even if ultimately it didn’t work.

The following season United won the FA Cup but my main memory of it is every game seemingly being 0-0 at half time. We played absolutely dire stuff in the first half of the season. It’s also a strong memory of the season Mourinho won 2 trophies, we finished distant 6th and a lot of memories of drawing 1-1 at home and missing about 10 chances.
