Ronaldo is a lot less likeable due to how demonstrative and entitled he is. Van de Beek is just a complete nothing player. However the more often he plays, the neutral feeling you may have (or had) towards him turns to anger. The same thing happened with Lingard. Despite Lingard's irritating and childish personality, it was generally a case of out of sight, out of mind. This changes the minute you are playing far too many games relative to the level of your performance.

In answer to the question, I would say that Van de Beek's United career has been the more pointless of the two. This because Ronaldo, through his actions and dreadful performances, has extracted emotion from me. I'm generally numb to Van de Beek's time here. Though as I said, the more often he plays...

I’m inclined to feel DVB is more pointless but 22/23 Ronaldo is more harmful. I think we can still function as a team with Donny playing, albeit he won’t contribute much of note. With Ronaldo, we just don’t look a cohesive unit and our attacking patterns become very predictable.

One of Woodwards finest. I don’t think Ole ever wanted him really, I think he was seen as a cut price Grealish alternative.
It’s criminal how we have mismanaged him and stalled if not ruined his career in the last 3 years.

Van de Beek has less of a point in that there's nothing to even look at. He doesn't do much that's good, much that's bad or much that's neutral. The net effect being negative because it's like playing with 10 men. He just exists on a team sheet.

Ronaldo's point seems to be to destroy our attacking potential. Missing chances he would once take, falling over a lot, not being able to run which is fairly important in football.

Which is more pointless? Probably VDB because there's very little chance he comes good. Ronaldo might score a goal occasionally. Maybe.
