Can't say Maignan did anything to particularly impress me in what I saw of the CL semis. Not sure he's right for the Premier League

Saw most of first leg but not as much of second. Didn't spot the ploughing thru players or sweeping. The saves... well, DDG isn't too awful at those! You didn't? (At least the 2nd leg).
- Good reflex save from a close range header
- Good strong save early on in the first half
- Ploughed through some players on a free kick and punched the ball away to safety
- Played good passes on the ground to the full backs, center defender/midfielder
- Came out of his box more than once to sweep the ball and stop a dangerous attack
Unpopular but I would give Henderson a season to prove himself, if it doesn't work out ship him and De Gea next season, unless money is no object and then I don't know.... anyone but De Gea
If Henderson can be reintegrated next season as first choice then renewing De Gea should not even be considered let him leave he has overstayed his welcome .Unpopular but I would give Henderson a season to prove himself, if it doesn't work out ship him and De Gea next season, unless money is no object and then I don't know.... anyone but De Gea
In fairness I can sympathise with Henderson or any player being disillusioned at the end of the Ole/Ragnick yearHe has to apologise for interview then

Do we know how long his contract is for?ETH has confirmed De Gea is staying, but that he doesn't promise he will be his no1 for much longer.
Bart Verbruggen or Lucas Chevalier, two young GK's that would likely be cheap and are breaking through now, will likely be two top top keepers at a top club in the near future, get one of them now and work their way into eventually pushing DDG out.

His interview with Henry Winter he didn't exactly say this , but more like He can't guarantee De Gea though he wants him to stay as At club like United there should always be competition for places and he wants two good players in every position .Source?
No more Giving Chances FC please. We need to be ruthless if we are to rise above the rut of mediocrity we are presently stuck in.Unpopular but I would give Henderson a season to prove himself, if it doesn't work out ship him and De Gea next season, unless money is no object and then I don't know.... anyone but De Gea
Marmadashvili? Kicking isn’t good enough imoWhat about that Georgian guy
The way he commands his area would be a breath of fresh air. It would be a huge weight off our CBs shoulders knowing that he's claiming any cross that's remotely near him. And as much as his cockiness irks me, I'm sure I'd have no qualms with his behaviour if he was our keeper! My only reservation would be his passing. Whenever I watch Villa, he seems to go long. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't recall him being capable at playing out from the back.I was thinking about this earlier, and realised the thing we want to avoid is another Tim Howard/Ben Foster situation. Those two were talented goalies who might have become decent enough for United in the long run. But they lacked the mentality to be the #1 at a megaclub. Gary Neville often talks about how the 'keeper position at Old Trafford is the hardest job in English football and I think that's something we need to always bear in mind.
If there's one player who won't be fazed by the role, it's Emi Martinez. He might not be the best on paper, but the risk of him shrinking in the limelight is pretty much 0%.

All effort should be put into Diogo Costa.
When it looked like De Gea was leaving I thought bringing Henderson back seemed like the logical choice as we will have limited funds if we want to by a striker.Unpopular but I would give Henderson a season to prove himself, if it doesn't work out ship him and De Gea next season, unless money is no object and then I don't know.... anyone but De Gea
I think we're done with Spanish goalkeepers for a while. After seeing Spain yesterday...I can see, why we were using Unai Simon. I would like to see him in United.
Spanish, Greenlandic, Colombian, Somali, English...I don't care where he's from. Most important thing is that he is (among) the best and is allowed to play.I think we're done with Spanish goalkeepers for a while.
Costa or Onana.
That‘s what second keepers are for.So, if we do sign Onana, which now seems likely, I guess the only concern I can see will be how we perform without him during the African Cup of Nations 13th Jan - 14th Feb 2024 when he'll be away for over a month. I think it'll be at least 4 league games, not sure about cup competitions - any thoughts?
