Which current youth players can make an immediate impact?

Can we please end with the "United have nothing to play for" thing. Every position in the premier league brings prize money, the difference between 10th and 14th is around 13m pounds. We're skirting the edges of PSR compliance, we need to finish as high up the league as we can in order to earn money to fund next season.

You know what I mean. Yes there is some PL merit money up for grabs, but the sentiment from Amorim the entire time he has been manager is 'sacrifice this season in order to be better prepared for next'. With that in mind, it would be in alignment with his strategy to give these youngsters some minutes and see if any can be integrated into the squad next season.

I understand each place is £2.8m that United could use, but if that were the focus of the club he would have adapted his system game-to-game by now to actually try and win some at any cost...

True - but if some of these players can perform and build a place for themselves in the team, that saves us money too as we then don’t have to spend as much in the summer.

13m pounds is the equivalent of getting rid of Malacia.

Kamason for sure. Purposeful and powerful runner. Technically strong. His overall defensive ability will need improving but he will only grow when given the chance in the first team. He could save United millions in that right back area

Kone has the engine and technical ability to play the box to box central midfield position. Able to carry the ball, link up play in midfield, spray passes around.

Jack Fletcher might be that rare deep lying playmaker United desperately need in central midfield. Elegant and always measured on the ball. Left footed, controls tempo of the game

Ibraagimov. Clever attacking midfielder. Knits and links up everything around the box. Tireless runner and definitely a character who won't shrivel.

Not all will make it but give them a chance. The best approach for United is to promote some of these players from the academy, buy top class up and coming stars from other leagues and a few established players. Balance everything right and raise the technical floor of the team

I'd say the position is more important than the individual at this stage. In terms of making an impact.

So yeah a young CB probably wouldn't make much of a difference. I don’t think a striker would either with the lack of service.

But a wing back, a CDM, a 10.

Gore should be the obvious one but his group has kind of been skipped. But when he recovers from the latest injury forget sending him back to his loan(is it Rotherham). Get him in the squad for the last couple of months.

After him Devaney would be my shout even though I haven't seem much of him. Just looks steady, good temperament and plays a position we need.

But I still think too young.

Does Amorim watch any of the youth games? I have seen a few highlights of games and never seen the camera pick him out, unlike TH and Ole who were seen a few times

He was at the U21 game against Southampton on Dec 14.

Hard to say, but the following should be given a run out in the PL for the remainder of the season now that United have nothing to play for:
  • Chido Obi
  • Harry Amass
  • Sekou Kone
  • Jack Moorhouse
  • Jack Fletcher
  • Jaydan Kamason
Considering United need improvements throughout the squad and probably have limited financial muscle in the summer, they should be looking to see if any of these can make the step-up and be useful additions to the squad for next season.

For example, considering Kamason has impressed a lot of people and seems a good profile fit for the RWB role - would people be completely happy with United spending £40-50m on a player who's 4 months younger than him in Quenda without at least getting a look at what he might offer first?
Kamason looks raw. Fletcher and Obi look "ready" from that list. But yes we should try them more and when if not now when the season is over (not the Europa league though) and we have an injury crisis.

I still think Tyler Fletcher has a better chance of making it than his brother. Glides around the pitch and looks really difficult to match up against at U18 level. Lovely crispness to his passing as well.
