When will you officially lose it during this transfer window?

1st of September if we sign nobody

Anyways, i don't have much interest in transfers anymore. We've ruined plenty of talented players over the last 7-8 years. What I'm most interested in seeing is how Ten Hag adds value to the players already at the club.

Most of you feckers will throw these new toys out of the pram, within half a season anyway. Just look at the Sancho thread.

We were never getting De Jong and Nunez with these leeching owners
I really thought we were going to be proactive this window. I kidded myself that with a handful of sales, we could have had a window of Torres, Timber, De Jong and Nunez. Wouldn't have solved everything obviously, but would have been a good start.

Sadly we haven't any assets to sell

Looks like Arsenal have got Jesus over the line, who would be their third signing of the window.

Liverpool have all but finished their business, City have brought in the best young striker on the planet, and Spurs are being very shrewd and bringing in some real talent. Chelsea are hamstring for obvious reasons but are already in a far stronger position to us.

It's not simply our inaction, it's how our actions in the market are relative to our rivals.

I'm already pretty frustrated as this window just stinks like so many that came before it. I hope I'm wrong, but that's the only sort of hope I've currently got
Those other clubs are able to make moves because they had existing structures in place. We have a newish executive team and a brand new management team so it seems reasonable to expect that we may lag a bit.

If we still haven't signed anyone (if not a couple) within the next 3 weeks - in time for the tour, then shit's getting lost.

The transfer sagas of Thiago, Fabregas etc have made me quite numb when it comes to Uniteds transfer windows. The last 5 years of awful football, not winning trophies and having a manager who was so unbelievably out of his depth in Ole, has made me stop caring so much.

Maguire, Wan Bissaka, Dan James was being championed as an amazing transfer window when it happened. That may have been the straw.

To be honest, if there’s hard work behind the scenes right now, such as making moves for De Jong and Eriksen, I’m somewhat content for now.

Would obviously love a signing or three before the tour. However, as long as things are happening according to Ten Hag’s wishes, that’s good enough for me. I’m backing him and putting full trust and faith in him until there’s a clear reason not to.

When and if both Fred and McTominay are in the starting lineup for the first match of the season.

100% this. It snuffs out much of the enjoyment with transfers. Based on historical precedence, there is a higher probability that a player fails as opposed to becoming a success for us.

Liverpool and City makes the deals early. I think they overpent a lot on Nunez, but still got it done.

Now they can try to squeeze money from selling Mane instead.

Already have zero expectations it's been a shit show since Ronaldo left for Madrid.

I give up with signings.

Don't get your hopes up.

With the next 2/3 weeks, to be honest that sinking feeling has already kicked in. Happy with the manager but don’t trust the board and in particular the Glazers.

2 of the 3 spice boys have left and a number of long term pensioners have been let go. This is already shaping up to be a satisfactory window.

All things considered, probably when we start the first league game with the McFred midfield and Rashford at RW

Agreed. Seems like no matter who we sign, They start off well but performances and on pitch attitudes inevitably start to decline. We have gone from a club that builds talented players into stars to one that brings down talented players into mediocrity.

I won't lose it, but I'll be pretty disappointed if our business isn't done before pre season, which feels more likely by the day now. Really wanted ETH to have enough time with his new team. He really needs to have a good start to the season, otherwise we'll get the same reaction from this horrible squad.

We have always been slow-movers in the transfer market - way too slow for my liking. I won't surprised if we sign a couple of players in the final week of the transfer window.

Addendum: The window doesn't close until midnight, September 1. So we have at least 2.5 months to go before the window shuts. There is no reason to get worked up about pre-season training, ETH's pre-season drills, and much-needed time for incoming players to gel with the existing team and environment because those concepts have long vanished at United.

When we are halfway through preseason and we are still seducing players to play for us

If we don’t sign 2 new midfielders this summer (preferably before preseasons starts).
It’s plain obvious to every men and his mum and his dog we need 2 new midfielders. If somehow we didn’t find any good values yet again this summer (despite Kamara moving for free and Bissouma moving for 25m), and end up with McFred yet again, it would be total tragic.

I have resigned myself to us getting nobody in at this point. Going to be pointless judging the new manager this season I think.

We finished 6th last season, and our main rivals for 4th next season have/or done great business so far, whilst we chase just 1 player.

Spurs have done especially great business so far, and now Arsenal are catching up and nearly closing in on both Vieira and Jesus, who will be fantastic signings for them, and really help them improve.

The only way we get back into the Champions League next season, is if we win the Europa League.

I'm choosing to believe that we've finally managed to get to grips with the leaks and this is the reason why all the rumours surrounding our transfer strategy are either nonsensical or non-existent. Every other day I'm reading about a new player we're considering, or in talks with, another player who supposedly snubs us and how De Jong's breakfast reveals how much he loves playing for Barcelona and how Laporta is secretly replacing his cereal so that he'll want to leave or something.

It's all too nonsensical to be real, so I choose to believe we've finally cleaned house and the media is clueless.

Never. Signings are not decided based on our wishes, but rather what the squad needs. My interest is on how he is going to use the academy talent.

If only Rangnick said this to the club when we hired Moyes and club listened we would be is such a good place now. Sickening to think how mismanaged this club has been.

Rangnick's assessment is based upon his style of play. He never really tried to adapt tactics for the players, rather he tried to force the players into his system. Systems need time to be implemented and when you are entering mid-season, it is the worst approach. ETH's assessment will be different as he is more of a manager who can deal with existing options as compared to Rangnick.

Nothing wrong as long as they are playing in their proper positions. Fred as an AM and McTominay as a CM is fine. Both as DMs will be problematic.

At the moment I'm 'relatively' calm with what is going on because I'm choosing to believe that behind the scenes United are doing the right things and making the right moves to ensure that ten Hag gets what he needs for the forthcoming season.

HOWEVER....I will be very pissed if ten Hag isn't boarding that plane to Thailand with the players he needs. I will absolutely lose my shit if he is on the plane to Norway and he still hasn't got the squad he needs.

I don't care who he gets in. I want to see him being given the best chance possible with the players he needs and most certainly before the first game of the season.

When will you guys reach breaking point?

I'm interested how this will manifest itself? Flipping tables, knocking over chairs, kicking the cat?

Never heard such rubbish. Ten Hag has a system and there will be players who can’t do it, just like Rangnick‘s system. That’s when the club should be helping him buy players to fit his system and so far they haven’t done that.

Pep replaced 6 players the season after he finished 4th with Man City, including the England number one Joe Hart. There was uproar about it at the time but he wanted a sweeper keeper. Same with Klopp.

Our biggest issue is the time it takes for player turnover. At least half our squad should not be playing for United anymore and have been failures at the club for too long.

The fact we could be going into our third season with McFred at CM, and Lindelof and Maguire as CB (Varane will spend half the season injured) says it all. Our spine is incredibly weak defensively yet nothing is done to rectify it.
