That would be incredible but I actually think if we could get either one of Nkunku or Anthony (I'd prefer Nkunku), I'd opt for a RB in place of the other. Plus, I don't think we could afford all of the above - even if we swap Anthony for a RB purchase - unless we do exceptionally well with sales.

A player I would love if we could get at the right price (which barring a Barca style financial meltdown is unlikely) is Joao Felix. Magnificent player wasted in a Simeone team. I’m sure the player knows he’s made a mistake but could be worth a punt in future windows if Atletico also want to cut their losses.
I can't say I've seen enough of him at Atletico but always found that transfer a little odd for both parties.

Prefer Nkunku over Nunez, havent watched them extensively but Nkunku looks to have the potential to become something special with the right conditions. Nunez could fade into oblivion if overwhelmed in a more comptetitive league.
Just buy players with the highest T rex levels, passing ability and tackling. Testosterone levels in athletics predict aggression. If we can get a megadeath like Roy Keane I'm all for it.
One thing struck me reading this forum the last few days, the club has regressed and needs a cultural reset, feel the same for a fair few of the fans.
I am seeing a lot of "player x, is value and he improves on waht we already have, he is an upgrqade".....seems to be a fair few average players people want us to sign that in my opinion are not even an upgrade on what we have. We shouldnt be looking to "Upgrade" on our players, lets be honest a lot of that isnt difficult.
We are one of the world biggest clubs regardless of the last decade. And the " we shouldnt sign big playres "We should sign young hungry players" we have kind of already done both.
I think this summer what really has to be asked is "Does this player have the ability to play for Manchester United, do they have the right attitude and drive, do they fit into the role/position we want, are they cosnsistent performers or have a lot of room for big development, do they improve our side over a period of five years which is the general cycle of a side"....
Its now 9 sesns since Ferguson and we have signed 38 players at a cost of nearly £1b....and how many arguably at the time fit all of that criteria?
For me:
5 were too old
12 were never good enough
8 were massively over priced
3 never fit into the system we had
Thats 28 or 38 players signed in one way or another were poor signings at the time as either the wrong age, wrong ability, fleeced or not the right player that we needed, 3/4 of our players were not good signings at the time we signed them.....and this isnt even considering the attitude/drive which I feel has been lacking from a majority of the remaining 10 players.
And that is why we have a squad of 40 players that forgetting the youngsters, barely provides a quality 5 a side team.
We NEED ro sign players that want to come here, are good enough to come here, have the drive and belief to win trophies and the attitude to improve and fight

I do worry about next season. Whilst it's unrealistic to expect us to have a squad ready to compete for the title next season, we would at least want a squad that doesn't have any massive glaring holes, and one we're confident will get top 4. We've left ourselves so much to do with all the contracts expiring, players wanting out and lack of quality.
In an ideal world we'd bring in 2 attackers, 2 midfielders, 1 right back and 1 centre back. It's not happening, not for a budget of £120m + sales (our alleged budget, which seems consistent with previous summers).
At the start of the season it's very realistic we'll have just 3 senior attackers in Rashford, Sancho and Ronaldo. The quality in depth is shocking. Supplemented by a bunch of kids like Amad and Elanga.
Midfield is so bad and with Pogba/Matic gone that's another 2 signings needed.
AWB will surely leave opening up a spot at right back that needs filling. Centre back is another weakness with Bailly/Jones/Tuanzebe gone to clear up a spot.
If we started off with dream signings such as De Jong and Nkunku that's probably £110m gone already. With 4 more spots left to fill. That's an example of the monumental task we're facing to strengthen all the areas we need.

The hilarious thing about all of this is that plenty of us could see it coming a mile off. We needed a right back last summer. We needed a defensive midfielder last summer. We needed to put plans in place to replace Pogba last summer. We needed a striker last summer.
In refusing to complete the necessary business last summer, we’ve now reached a position in which the arse fell out of the club and now we’re looking at six, seven or eight players instead of what should be two or three.
We still need a right back. We now need another centre half. We need at least two central midfielders. We need a striker and probably another versatile forward (the latter in light of one of our players deciding to kick ten bells out of his other half).
It’s genuinely difficult to put into words just how fecking useless our forward planning has been in relation to the squad.
Cavani, Pogba, Lingard, Matic and Mata are all leaving. We won’t miss them. Henderson, Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Jones, Bailly and Martial are all likely to leave, too. I doubt we’ll miss them either; that’s a shitload of players. I’ve been accused of being negative tonight, but facilitating this level of turnaround in one window is basically unprecedented. We’ve got so much to do.

Im a fan of Nathan Collins and watched him a number of times in the championship. But some tweets going around valuing him at 40 million and I’m not sure if he’s quite worth that right now.
Personally I actually prefer Harry Souttar over Nathan Collins when I was watching Stoke. Albeit Collins was mainly playing RB while Souttar was CB so hard to compare them.
Harry Souttar though I think has a lot of potential, hopefully he carries on where he left off when he comes back from his ACL injury.

We can't have a midfield of McFred again, so for me a CDM and BTB midfielder is a must. Looks like we have already shown our hand on Timber for CD/RB and I think a young striker will be bought as well. Nkunku might be a good bet as he can cover multiple positions. The hardest part is convincing excellent players here, in the position we are in and may have to go down the young hungry good players with big potential route, than the finished article. Lets hope the scouts have been improved, or listened to. will 4 players be enough though? Will TH be allowed to get in more?
I'd assume because of cost; it will be a choice of RW and ST. The other positions are all mandatory.

Partially because more recent stories have said we're looking for a single versatile attacking player rather than multiple attacking players. But also because unlike the post I was responding to lays out on paper, neither Ronaldo nor our new attacker will likely be content to swap in and out of the one CF spot on a 50/50 basis. Particularly given Rangnick openly stated that Ronaldo doesn't want to play as a CF. So I suspect we'll see them play together quite a bit as well, taking up two of the three attacking spots rather than just one between them.
I also wouldn't be overly surprised to see Bruno starting from a nominal wide position occassionaly either, with VDB as the #10.

I think it's just as important we do a proper job of clearing players out. We need the hangers-on, the overpaid and the wannabe TikTok influencers to be shown the door.
