Nah, it's pretty much guaranteed we will be back on top, this is a new era. Don't you feel all the enthusiasm in the football forum?
This is the first time that I feel a sense of excitement, anticipation but realism in the level of expectation amongst the fan base. True a good transfer window and that might change and we’ll hear talk of “good enough to challenge” by the start of the season but for now expectations seem to be realistic.
Under Moyes, we were already title winners so I think even those who thought he was wrong felt he’d still keep us top 3, at worse 4 and those who felt he was SAF second coming thought we’d carry on winning.
Under LVG, especially with his first window, I think many of us thought we’d be back. Winning titles and playing great football.
When Jose came again I think regardless orb whether people wanted him or not, the expectation was that we’d grind out results and challenge City.
Ole was more split. There were always some who felt regardless of the players he signed he’d always fall short and others who felt give him 5 years and £2b and he’d be the next Klopp.
With ten Hag it’s the first time where I’ve seen little to no expects other than building a good, young and exciting team with players that deserve to play for the club. Obviously longer term people expect him to achieve things but in the first 1-2 years no one has really defined much.
