Exactly my point. If he was going to be sacked, the Glazers wouldn't allow him to be flying around the world to scout on official club business. Dave won't be paying for those plane tickets himself.

Plus, he's apparently already put plans in motion to sign some players or they've agreed to sign depending on what reports you believe. Again, this wouldn't be allowed if we were going to sack him any time soon.

I honestly wouldn't look too much into Moyes going on scouting trips.

He will be manager of Manchester United right up to the point when he isn't, if they are going to sack him they would not stop him going on scouting trips, why would they it would basically be like telling him he is going to be sacked. A few trips are not going to bankrupt the club. He won't find out until he and his agent are called into meet the board one day if he is to be sacked.

Also he keeps talking about his plans for the future in every interview even when he is not asked about it which i find a little strange, could be trying to convince himself as much as anyone else. We haven't signed anyone yet it doesn't even seem like we are close to signing anyone soon except for the shaw rumours.

It was telling for me though that when asked in his presser the other day if signings were close he replied that it could be difficult to sign players before the world cup. That could be true or that could be the club stalling deals until they are sure what their plans are.

If they're the right sort of targets, why not? Moyes isn't going for anyone obscure or below the radar (that we know of). A lot of managers would take in the likes of Shaw, Carvalho or whoever. But, as mentioned above, I don't think he's really in any progressive talks and it's a bit of a porky.

Exactly. If a new manager comes in and wants those same players then the ground work will already have been done and it will be easier for him. If not then he can put a pin in it and it won't matter. No signings will likely be agreed before the transfer window opens anyway and if Moyes does go it will be shortly after our last game has been played. There won't be any issues should we change manager.

This whole "He needs his own players" excuse is getting on my nerves, I think we all knew the team needed strengthening but nothing explains taking the same squad plus £64M investment from 1st to 7th. Moyes radiates cluelessness in every interview, to give him a huge wad of money to spend as an attempted fix is suicide.

Nah, the importance of this gets overstated because of how Moyes has put emphasis on this. I cannot imagine a manager would be too disappointed working with this squad plus Shaw and Kroos for example and would complain that he wanted Coentrao and Carvalho instead.

Schurrle was brought before Mourinho got in and he had no trouble accomodating him. Mata was at the club well before, not a result of unwanted transfer just prior to his arrival.

Obviously a new manager might prefer different players but most top class managers won't moan about not having their own players there.

Of course, I meant it makes absolutely no sense to keep Moyes just because he has some players lined up, much better to let the new manager sign his own players.

Agree with this. The board probably won't give any clear indication until they decide to sack him. It isn't in their interest to do so anyway, since he's currently still managing the squad.

On the other hand, the murmurs are getting louder. Today is the first time I feel Moyes may have reached or crossed that tipping point.

Agreed, you'd imagine Moyes would be seeking assurances either yesterday or today, he couldn't let that level of speculation mount without comment, either way the club will have to comment and we'll final hear Moyes' time is up.

Cast your minds back to the very first match under him. we played an Asian team(from Malaysia I think) in a pre season friendly. We lost 1 nil. I remeber Moyes' comments after the game.

This was a disaster from the beginning. A rare mistake for Fergie. Moyes has turned Man Utd into what Naipaul once called India , a zone of hopelessness and despair - An Area of darkness.

It's quite stunning really, just how far we've fallen in 10 months.
