Give them the 04-05 Serie A treatment.
As if the PL has balls to do it. If it was Utd who cheated then we would have had a punishment of getting relegated to non league football by now.

My problem with taking them away is, we all pretty much knew that was going on since they were taken over, people are making it out to be like it's this huge revelation when the signs were all blantantly there, let them keep their titles and relegate them to the Championship.

No the investigation started in 2018. City have just stalled and stalled. Typical tactic really.

This could have all been sorted long before now had they cooperated. The trouble is they didn't want to because they had stuff to hide.

As much as I hate City I can't see them losing the titles and those being awarded any other team. I'll be satisfied if they start next season with a solid minus, like -15, get a transfer ban for 2-3 windows and end up in infamy and with asterisks next to their titles.

They should be stripped. As for whether they are void or us and Liverpool end up with 3 more each, I don't really care. No fan can take joy in winning a title years after the fact, the joy comes from watching those title clinching games and the season. They shouldn't get to keep the prestige of those titles which they cheated to get.

A ban for two transfer windows is just one season and they still would've qualified for the CL with -15 points in each of the last 5 seasons. That would be an extremely disappointing outcome.

D) all points taken away from opposition awarded to the other teams that otherwise lost or drew. That might change second place winners being second place.

in other words if second place Liverpool let’s say for example beat city twice, but third place United lost twice and was 5 points behind Liverpool, they could actually be 2nd

Strip off titles, no winner and relegate them to Championship.

Will create more confusions for relegated teams. Not a good idea.

Nothing can be done now.for what happened. Strip off titles and consider no winner. As a punishment, relegate them to championship.

Taking away their titles is like turning the Premier League into the Tour de France.
I could see sense in it if it was something solved at the time, not after ten years.
They would still be titles, even if they had an asterisk on the books.
A huge discredit to Silva, Toure, Kun and so many other good players, who earned it on the field.
I would be in favor of doing it with proven evidence of physical doping , not financial.
I think the sanction (I can't quite believe it's happening) should be about the present and future.

Logical is that 2nd place gets them but I won't really celebrate.

Keep them. They’re tainted anyway and don’t mean anything

I’d rather our titles be the untainted ones where we finished 1st fairly

Titles are won on the pitch, their players won it fair and square. Its the management that have flouted the rules. points deduction that will impact their champions league qualification, 4 transfer window bans and limit how much they can spend for another 4 windows after the ban. Open their books to the Premier League for 5 financial years.

wont happen though

Keep them. I don’t want this to turn into the tour de France where years after date the 2nd placed guy gets the yellow jersey. There is no honor in that.

Besides that we should be careful who knows what skeletons will come out of the utd closet?

As much as I’d like to see it happen, it won't. They’ll get a point deduction- prob this season as they’re going to lose to Arse anyway and next season, business as usual. Worth doing in the end.

Strip them of their illicit titles. Melt the trophies down to add to the height of their floodlights. Citeh have the highest floodlights in football cos Citeh are a massive club!

They won it through cheating in order to get those players on the pitch. The players keep their medals sure - though they would be tainted, but the club absolutely should get stripped of trophies won while cheating to do so.

That’s a great point, would cause such an issue with relegation teams. Can’t see how a whole season of premier league football should be written off becuase city cheated though?

But how many of them players would of been there if they hadn't cheated? There's nothing fair and square about it

Most of them probably would have been there though

Dont strip the titles just make it known they were bought.

Sanctions should be now and in the future. -30 points for x seasons so they cant win the title and cant even qualify for champions league let alone win it.

Disqualification from the league cup and barred from entering the FA cup.

Long transfer embargo.

just make it a dead club playing for nothing for a while

None of these will happen. Best to happen will be them getting point deduction.

that wont be fair. Teams like Birmingham and Derby have been docked major points and suffered transfer embargos for one or two breaches of sustainability and profit rules.

City have 101 counts. Thats cataclysmic. They cant just get a wee slap of the wrists for it.

Point deduction and transfer bans are the most that will happen. If you think they are going to strip them of all their titles then I'm sorry but that's a little bit delusional.

When Juve were stripped of their titles it was due to match fixing scandal.

i wouldnt strip them of titles. Everyone knows they are hollow now anyway.

but the points deductions and embargos will have to be huge. Otherwise what does it matter? You just cheat for a decade then have one little points deduction and cant sign players for one season? No deterrent

If they get point deduction, it should be from the start of next season, since they aren't going to win the title this season anyway, so deducting points from them this season will be a pointless punishment. Start next season with - 15 points.

They will probably get a 2 years transfer ban though.

I wouldn't take it away from the players. It wasn't their responsibility to keep City's accounts straight. Any questions as to how impressive their achievement was relative to the squad available was always there. They should keep their winners medals whatever the outcome.
Same with the manager, though if their pay check is being garnished its probably clear things aren't all above board. Playing with a stacked deck isn't exactly sporting
I wouldn't go picking through the past. The poll elsewhere has a preference for them being voided as opposed to passed on and its on a fan site of the club who stands to benefit most. Its a massive can of worms if you start looking at relegated clubs results against them and european qualification. Its done, they benefited, everyone else lost out to some extent.

I dont really know how i feel about it at this point. So many of them cups and leagues were won by such fine margins. Having a relatively good back up keeper is the kind of stupid, tiny detail that could have swung things against them. The number and range of charges kind of suggest they were benefiting to the tune of more than a slightly better keeper, so it raises the question, what if? The asterisk is already there now really. Which has damaged the wider league when its taken them 15 years to catch up. I guess I already knew (or thought it was obvious), just feels weird to have it confirmed in a way.
I dont even know if i actually support FFP. I just dont think you can have clubs decide which rules they're going to follow.
Football is in a very weird spot at the moment.

Didn't like the words small from Kaveh so hopefully he's way off the mark on this one, do you reckon there's no chance of a ban either

They will be straight back up in a year and with motivation. They can afford the financial hit with their owners. That’s not enough.

What is a suitable punishment

for me it’s stripping them of their titles. Even if no one gets them the years they won it. Fining them isn’t an option as they are so wealthy they can just pay it. Relegation is fine but they will be straight back up the following season and probably crack on like nothing happened. In fact they will one day talk about the dark days when they were relegated and fought back to dominate yet again. feck that.

I want their fans to go on the stadium tour to an empty trophy cabinet.. for me it’s the one thing that can hurt them the most. They got to be hit where it hurts the most. That’s the trophies.

Yeah I just want those seasons voided, presume you are talking about the multiple League & FA Cups they won as well

What you miss in this, is those players being complicit as there's no other way they'd be at City in the first place without the top ups under the table for their services.

They aren't innocent, hard done by heroes in all of this. There's a reason they were at City in the first place, and further, went nowhere else.
