What is the ambition of our club?

Our net spend wouldn't be as high as it is over the last 9 years if we had no ambition.

We're just run by absolute incompetent fools who don't know what they're doing. You can have all the ambition in the world to win the league and champions league but it's not enough, it all comes down to decision making. If you're run by ambitious idiots then they're going to make idiotic decisions and you're not going to get anywhere.

Almost every footballing decision we make is dumb. Wrong choice in managers, blatant nepotism in appointing managers/coaches/technical staff, bad signings, wrong decisions to extend players contracts, holding onto below par players too long, an inability to address the weakest areas of the team and build a balanced squad, inability to negotiate fair wages, inability to negotiate fair transfer fees, inability to get transfers over the line, inability to build a squad with a vision of how the team wants to play.

I have no doubt the higher ups are trying to get us back to the top, they're just clueless as to how to achieve it.

Pretty much this. I once went to write a test in college without studying for that subject knowing that the test was going to consist of solely true or false questions, so I had a decent chance of scoring passing marks. There were 10 questions and I ended up marking all of them incorrectly - that is a probability of 0.001 but somehow I achieved it. This is what seems to be happening with us - not enough preparation going into the transfer window and continuously making all the wrong choices - each and every single time.

Rewarding the hooray Henry’s for enabling them to buy ManUtd with no outlay and receive ongoing dividends, is the sole answer for the gradual destruction of the club. Makes no sense to appoint people with no structural football Knowledge and then leave then untouched for over 10 years.

The Glazers are a bunch of lucky shopping centre owners who fell into riches built by their now late father. Until they get off the gravy train and the club resets, nothing will change, the club is no longer a destination for the best players and it falls at the feet of the Glaziers, Woodward and Judge - hopeless is not a satisfactory adjective to describe their rule.

My friend we are already at this station of Faded Glory and Absolutely No Pull. Don’t even delude ourselves that we were ever in the running for the likes of Haaland, Nunez, etc. FDJ is a good player but for FFS it’s clear he doesn’t want to come.

Agreed, sadly.

Our rivals were mocking our transfer business since the “You sign Phil Jones, we sign Kun Aguero” and it only ever got worse.

The owners don’t have the ambition and /or sense to put in place a proper structure or appoint qualified people to run an actual football club let alone a successful one.

Everything is about monetising the brand but that’s being run into the ground. Unless we get lucky on the pitch we are probably entering final stages of their ownership but that will still take years unless there is huge fan revolt.
