What is a good result at Anfield?

I'd ideally prefer a win. That's the only acceptable outcome. A draw would be "meh", whilst a loss, although shit, wouldn't necessarily be a surprise. I do expect maximum Feckin effort though. If martial starts, were playing with ten men..

A draw would be a good result, considering we get reamed by every top half team away from home. The graphic Sky had up after the Newcastle game showed us the last 11(?) away results against the top 9 teams and we’d drawn one and lost ten. So to answer the question “what is a good result”, a draw would be a bloody miracle. I can’t see a scenario in which we don’t lose this game though. It’s grim but let’s be real.

If you refuse to play don’t you just get a default 3 - 0 loss?

Think there's some sterner punishment/wording about wilful surrender/not doing your best to get the points. Not sure on the punishments, but you can probably assume at least relegation and a few trophies docked as its us!

I hope ETH thinks out the box for this one. He somehow managed a victory over Liverpool last season when we were in even worse form. Maybe even a change of formation.

AWB. Maguire. Shaw
Dalot. Amrabat. Mainoo. Regulion
Mctomminy
Antony. Hojlund

This should stop the threat of Salah and Diaz. Keep them two quiet, and we may have a chance of some miracle.

Tottenham away (last season) in the last 18 months is the only time we got any kind of a result against top half of the table away from home, and we nearly threw that one away too after going 2-0 up. Dismal.

I don't care about the result, I care about how we handle ourselves. I don't want the likes of Rashford and Martial anywhere near this one.

Give me a lineup that will fight for it.

If memory serves I believe we drew 0-0 and lost 4-2 in 20-21, lost 5-0 and 4-0 in 21-22 and lost 7-0 last year (won the game at OT 2-1 though)

I mean the players have to know that this isn’t on. You can lose and get beat by the better team on the day but these scorelines against our most bitter rivals have to stop. Three different managers, many humiliating results. Just don’t get embarrassed again.

Currently, probably stopping them getting into double figures

Come on guys, I know we've been really bad lately but the scousers aren't exactly blowing teams away.7-0 last season was an absolute freak result 8 shots on target 7 goals 3 or 4 of which were just unbelievably lucky.
If he sets us up like he has lately with the same players it could get ugly but even then, no way are we losing 7-0 again.

I honestly think he'll be a bit more defensive like at Arsenal earlier in the season.

I just despair reading some replies on here, I can only put it down to emotions running high after the Bournemouth game, if not, then I genuinely don't understand why you support Utd.

For the record, I'm going 1-1 or 2-1 either way.

A win. There's no reason human beings cant beat another set of human beings in a sport through hardwork. Sadly I doubt it'll happen, but feck it.

A good result in terms of what I would like is a win. A good result in terms of what I expect would be a draw. What I actually think will happen is we get smashed.

I missed the good old days. Take me back.

I can see us going 1-0 up against all odds. But we’ll end up losing 3-1. Would be about right at the moment

That is not the attitude. Take a draw, sure. There's literally absolutely nothing to gain from taking a defeat.
We are not gaining anything from this game. The main point in our current state is not to get humiliated. The fact that posters have not accepted this fact is a bit sad and will just lead to ruined weekends.

What an odd question. Losing would be a bad result, getting slaughtered would be a terrible result, drawing would be an OK result, a narrow win good and a large win great. Obviously.

I think United could win or draw at Anfield if they are bit savyy. Liverpool might be leading the table, but they are not playing well at all and look clueless against organised defence.

Supporting United does not equal denial, though. A close game would be an absolute miracle, while a hammering will be seen as the norm at the moment.

Indeed. The 7-0 absolutely was a freak result. Everything went their way. I still think that we’ll concede at least 4 though.

People thinking we will actually turn up at Anfield for first time since 2016 are in for a nasty shock

If we keep it to a 2 goal deficit, I will consider that a good performance, because we are shorn of confidence and missing key players. Losing by 3 would be bad, and more than 3 would be a disaster. I think it's going to be a super disaster. I can see them getting 4 in the first half.

If he shows up trying to play 2 10’s again it will be 5+
